I think this is a Black-chinned Hummingbird. They are a native breeding species in my area. The light does not illuminate the iridescent blue throat patch that would permit an authoritative identification. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird is similar in appearance.

Playing with Dragging the Shutter again - this time it worked better, although I didn't get the effect I wanted.
This is actually Plan B shoot - a completely second shoot - for which the boys were extremely happy about (less so the Photographer).
Plan A looked decent on the LCD but was unsalvageable on the computer, and since this was their last 52 Weeks for Dogs for the year I couldn't NOT try again.

A mural made in Mannheim, Germany, was inspired by the famous Auguste Rodin's sculpture. The size of the wall is 15 x 10.5 meters. Spray paint on the wall. Supported by Montana Cans.

Look closely, and you may see remnants of this little one's last meal on his/her beak. The Northern Saw-whet Owls (Aegolius acadicus) are currently on the move, traveling through Western New York on their ways to their breeding grounds in Canada. In the last few years, research has found that these tiny owls actually fly straight across Lake Ontario. That's basically a stick of butter flapping its way across ~50 miles of water!
don't know why, but this capture always remind me to the sculpture from Auguste Rodin ;-)

Saw this at a local garden on a visit with my son. It is an HDR image, and then crossed processed on Picnik.

They write (amongst many other things): It is the ability to "think outside the box" ! I ask: WHAT BOX???? LOL
I must admit that as a 'creative', 1, being a night-person, my 'best' ideas mostly come after midnight! 2, it is an urge, not a choice... and 3.... as soon as you have 'problems', however small, with client, family, health... the first thing to GO is: my creativity! So please, tee hee, do not upset me, he?
Characteristics of the creative personality:
Creative individuals have a great deal of energy, but they are also often quiet and at rest.
Creative individuals tend to be smart, yet also naive at the same time.
Creative individuals have a combination of playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.
