Thing 3? Thing 3? Who knew there were three?

Did he, did she, well certainly not me?

Thank you everyone for attending our parties. Keeping a party brand going is a very difficult thing to do, but we did it. For everyone that does not know our story, three of our organizers (DJ Antomattei, Travis, and Yukina) were apart of another party brand "VivaTokyo" prior. In November 2011 shortly after the VivaTokyo 1st Anniversary Party, the three made the decision to form their own new international party brand. On November 13, 2011 a meeting was held, and along with two new members (Yui and Mizuha), "TOKYO KNIGHTS ♛ 東京ナイツ" was formed.

Since our launch event we have been producing a party monthly for Tokyo's A-list crowd, hipsters, and the cool young people that define us. For the demographic of men and women aged between 20 - 40 years old, we would say that we have the best international party in Tokyo. Our parties are for everyone. Please come to our "1st Anniversary Party" and celebrate with us as we head into a new year of our fun history.

And here's a yellow Thing.

The VW Thing was made in Mexico, and its popularity with Americans led the Mexican-built version to be sold in American Volkswagen dealerships for two seasons (1973 and 1974). Alas, its spartan layout and its removable doors made it impossible to meet U.S. safety standards.

That's all I have from the 2017 All Aircooled Gathering. And I sure wish I'd charged

up my camera before I went. See you in 2018.

When Johnny comes marching home again,

Hurrah! Hurrah!

We'll give him a hearty welcome then

Hurrah! Hurrah!

The men will cheer and the boys will shout

The ladies they will all turn out

And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.

The old church bell will peal with joy

Hurrah! Hurrah!

To welcome home our darling boy,

Hurrah! Hurrah!

The village lads and lassies say

With roses they will strew the way,

And we'll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.

The lyrics, written by Irish-American bandleader Patrick Gilmore, and published under the pseudonym 'Louis Lambert', effectively reverse those of "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye", in which Johnny returns home blind and crippled, to the woman he abandoned in order to join the army. The "Johnny" so longed for in the song is Patrick Gilmore's future brother in-law a Union Light Artillery Captain named John O'Rourke. The song was written by Patrick for his sister Annie Gilmore as she longed for the safe return of her Captain from the Civil War.

Randy Cohen will interview Pulitzer Prize-winning Irish poet Paul Muldoon and his wife novelist Jean Hanff Korelitz for his public radio program Person, Place, Thing on Monday, September 29 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Princeton Public Library. Guests on the program are asked to speak about a person, a place, and a thing they find meaningful, rather than about themselves.

Paul Muldoon is the Howard G.B. Clark ’21 university professor in the Humanities at Princeton and the founding chair of the Lewis Center for the Arts where he is a professor of creative writing. He is also the poetry editor for The New Yorker. His new collection One Thousand Things Worth Knowing: Poems will be published by Farrar Straus and Giroux in January. According to the publisher, “Muldoon can be somber or quick-witted — often within the same poem: The mournful refrain of “Cuthbert and the Otters” is ‘I cannot thole the thought of Seamus Heaney dead,’ but that doesn’t stop Muldoon from quipping that the ancient Danes “are already dyeing everything beige/In anticipation, perhaps, of the carpet and mustard factories.”

Nick Laird’s assessment, in The New York Review of Books, is that Muldoon is “the most formally ambitious and technically innovative of modern poets,” an experimenter and craftsman who “writes poems like no one else.”

Publishers Weekly calls Jean Hanff Korelitz’s new novel You Should Have Known (Grand Central $26) an “excellent literary mystery” that “unfolds with authentic detail in a rarified contemporary Manhattan.” Her 2009 novel, Admission, about a reader in Princeton University’s Office of Admissions, was made into a movie starring Tina Fey in 2013. Her other novels include The White Rose, The Sabbathday River, and A Jury of Her Peers.

Randy Cohen won multiple Emmy awards as a writer for Late Night with David Letterman and for 12 years wrote “The Ethicist” column for The New York Times Magazine.

Actually, that 'thing' which sits atop the roof of the PNC Bank Operations Center across from the Philadelphia International Airport, is a sculpture called "Firefly", created by R.M. Fischer. I would estimate a zagillion people ride by and say..."What the hellzatt!"

Enjoy and see you next year!

One thing creative photography is teaching me is to try to come out of my comfort zone. That zone involves my family for photos of people, animals, plants, buildings etc.. It doesn't involve people or strangers.

So, for my assignment I thought of trying to photograph people and by that also meaning that I would have to ask their permission to take their photo. Something that I am also not comfortable doing.

That being said, on our trip to Cuba I thought it might allow me to come out of that comfort zone and get some photos of strangers. I am more comfortable in being a paparazzi type person rather than the portrait photographer if you know what I mean.

This young lady was in a mermaid outfit surrounded by desserts! So, I thought how hard can this be .... well to approach her and ask "I am a photography student at the college, can I take your photo for my assignment and post it" was the hardest thing. Still, I think the photo is not too bad and it seemed to go over well tonight in class...of course...the one of my wind blown hair and half a head for my assignment 2 was more well received...I think that's cause the folks there in class were just to afraid of saying "OMG what the heck are you thinking to take that nutty photo of yourself???"...oh and for the record...no you won't see that one LOL

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. I hope you all know that I appreciate your comments however, awards and invites aren't necessary.

Gangie's Photos on Flickriver

I have recently joined the ODC3 Group. I think I will enjoy it because I am not required to post everyday. I can pick and choose what I want to post, and I have a whole week to do it.

What's not to like.

The subject for this day is A Favorite Thing.

Well currently my favorite thing is this little Canon.

I have my Big Boy Camera which took this shot but I take this Canon with me everywhere. And I sometimes get some nice shots.

It's small. Has a nice Zoom although I hardly ever use it. And reproduces color nicely.

Overall my Fav.

The Newmarket branch of Woolworths, photographed during last summer. Closed and empty when I passed a fortnight ago. Has anybody else noticed the gradual decline of window displays? Often, of course, in stores where "self-selection" prevails, the windows give only a view of the checkout tills. Vast areas of window-glass are now utilised, as here, only for the display of tatty stickers advertising bargains. Too much bother, I suppose.

This cute lady works with me. She is very gentle and soft but behind the mask lies a competitive woman, who love speed and performance. I wanted to show this aspect of her that of knows. By the way, she ride that bike!

Rumblemumbles got 1 year older on Sunday and got so excited she couldn't control herself. The mere sight of bling sent her into a dysfunctional spiral.

We bought her a new Porsche and one of her friends bought her this bling thing.
