I’m sick of the hook ups, the set ups, the fuck ups, the guys who only want one thing, the guy who doesn’t know what he wants, the guy who does, but won’t admit it. I just want the real thing

Enhanced Networking Activity: The Thing from the Future

1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ET

Location: Rendezvous

Against a backdrop of accelerating change and increasing uncertainty, the wellbeing and resilience of organizations and communities of all sorts depends on our collective ability to think deeply and diversely about the issues shaping our lives, and where they could be going. The emerging practices of “experiential futures” are a synthesis of design and foresight skills, helping us imagine how possible, probable and preferable futures might look and feel to inhabit. They are being used increasingly by organizations around the world, to support more creative, robust and innovative engagement with the decisions that matter today. At this playful workshop you will rapidly prototype experiential future scenarios with other CGI attendees. You’ll learn how to scaffold your imagination and explore potential shifts around some of the issues you care most about, while getting to know other participants at the event, and having fun in the process.

i have stacks of magazines.

My baby's always dancin'

And it wouldn't be a bad thing

But I don't get no lovin'

And that's no lie

We spent the night in Frisco

At every kind of disco

From that night I kissed our love goodbye

Don't blame it on the sunshine

Don't blame it on the moonlight

Don't blame it on good times

Blame it on the boogie

Don't you blame it on sunshine

Don't blame it on moonlight

Don't blame it on good time

Blame it on the boogie

That nasty boogie bugs me

But somehow it has drugged me

Spellbound rhythm gets me on my feet

I've changed my life completely

I've seen the lightening leave me

My baby just can't take her eyes off me

Don't blame it on the sunshine

Don't blame it on the moonlight

Don't blame it on good times

Blame it on the boogie

I just can't

I just can't

I just can't control my feet

I just can't

I just can't

I just can't control my feet

Don't blame it on the sunshine

Don't blame it on the moonlight

Don't blame it on good times

Blame it on the boogie

This magic music grooves me

That dirty rhythm moves me

The devil's gotten to me through this dance

I'm full of funky fever

A fire burns inside me

Boogie's got me in a super trance

Don't blame it on the sunshine

Don't blame it on the moonlight

Don't blame it on good times

Blame it on the boogie

Sunshine

Moonlight

Good times

Boogie

Sunshine

Moonlight

Good times

Boogie

Don't you blame it

You just got to

You just want to

Yeah

Blame it on yourself

Ain't nobody's fault but yours and that boogie

Dancin' all night long

Yours and that boogie

Ain't nobody's fault but yours

Dancin' all night long

things that make you go, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

The thing that strikes me as odd about this picture is that I look like I'm moving backwards. Now, if you know me well enough, you know that moving FORWARD is a bit of a challenge for me. Backwards.. well that's above my level.

The trim is done. I have to give credit where credit is due, though. It wasn't done to its perfection by me. I had something of a mental breakdown trying to figure out the chaos in my head... and B came to the rescue. I woke up this morning to trim that was half yellow and half white... when last night I could have sworn it was all white. B taped it all off and painted over my shoddy job to make my kitchen an (almost) finished piece of work.

All good things must come to an end though... the Chargers were playing and I have a strict "No Football" rule. Why watch fat guys run into each other when you can watch educational things like LA Ink and Will and Grace?

I must be off to figure out books and the like. Have a great evening!

The first thing on my mind about this shot is: Luck.

I won't bore you telling that it was about an hour I was trying to catch a lighting intentionally, without success... Anyway, the image is not as much sharp as it could be, probably because the shutter speed was too slow for that focal length. But I hadn't a second chance...

“It's the Real Thing.”

When is a Coca-Cola, not the real thing? When it's a COCO-Cola!

Having access to newspaper archives, is a bit like having a view to the past. Perhaps MEs have always happened naturally, or there are many parallels running alongside our own existence. During Coca-Cola's burgeoning history, there is an overwhelming amount of artifacts to suggest there are those who know the drink as COCO-Cola.

Sadly, I haven't found a Coco-Cola script logo (yet!), but all these snapshots are from adverts originating from "Coco-Cola" itself; many of them listing Coco-Cola as their regional bottling plant, and with plenty of mention in their body copy as well.

Want to scry into a potential COCO-Cola dimension? It's the real thing!

B & I saw that plane at an aviation museum out in Palmdale or Lancaster (it's HUGE!) & the shuttle at the science museum. We've stood under both.

2cfs - Beech Fork

Fairgrounds to 31E

Wow. This thing just keeps getting bigger.

We had 50+ out on the Beech Fork this Saturday for another great Paddle Pickup.

First I would like to thank everyone who makes this river cleanup possible. People like Mike Hammons with Central Kentucky Canoe & Kayak. He halts his own business and donates his entire fleet of canoes to us each year. And when we load these things with tires and old scrap metal then scrape them down the rubble dam, we really but the boats through the ringer. But with out them, the Paddle Pickup could never grow to be this large. So Mike, the Bardstown Boaters would like to thank you for all or your hard work and support.

We would like to thank Nelson County for providing all the means needed to remove the bulk garbage from the river.

We would like to thank the Bardstown Rotarians for providing t-shirts for all the volunteers of the Paddle Pickup.

We would like to thank the Bluegrass Tavern and Smith Brothers Distributing for providing us with a new banner for this year's event.

And special thanks goes out to Boy Scout Troops 142 and 147. They came out big for the 2007 Paddle Pickup. Over 20 scouts paddled the river, cleaning it up and removing tons of garbage from it. The Boy Scouts worked very hard on this day and it couldn't have been this great of an effort without them.

This year the Paddle Pickup removed more trash for our local stream bed than ever before. Over 80 tires were among the tons of garbage removed, which includes an old news paper dispenser that has been wasting away down at the Beech Fork for about a decade and of course your standard 20 bags full of beer and soft drink cans.

Sadly we had two blatant displays of disrespect to our river during the Paddle Pickup. A group of eight paddlers putting on at 31E threw down beer cans right in front of a group of volunteers who were removing tires from the river. Also a father son team of polluters threw down their bait container and soft drink cans while they enjoyed fishing at the freshly cleaned rubble dam.

Keep throwing your trash in the river, and we'll keep picking it up. We won't be stopping. One day these idiots will get the message.

If you weren't able to make it out this year, we'll be doing it again next year. It will take place again during the National River Cleanup Week.

Thanks to all our volunteers who helped make our local waterways a better place. We'll see you on the river.

This thing is hard to describe. Based on the principle that everything in life is governed by cycles of seven, I have gone on to calculate and graphically depict what this may mean in terms of what our calendars and clocks should really look like to be in tune with how life works. The dial shows both years, months, hours, and weekdays in terms of what we are used to, and mirrors them against what we should have instead. The dates written in orange reflect validity only for myself, because the resting phase preceeding a new round on the dial ends on a person's birthday. Everything else though is generic. Have fun playing, would be interesting to hear about your observations.

Another 1973 Thing. Note the spare tire.

What's the appeal of these cars? It's a Thing thing. You wouldn't understand. :-D

One thing the Leyland Lynx had in common with the Routemaster was the various adorrnment softened it's angular shape and once bits of trim went missing they no longer looked so good. This Midland Red West Lynx in Birmingham bound for Redditch and Evesham wasn't very old but already looked scruffy and unloved.
