"I am terrified by this dark thing
That sleeps in me;
All day I feel its soft, feathery turnings, its malignity.
Clouds pass and disperse.
Are those faces of love, those pale irretrievables?
Is it such I agitate my heart?
I am incapable of more knowledge.
What is this, this face
So murderous in its strangle of branches?
Its snaky acids kiss.
It petrifies the will. These are the isolate, slow faults
That kill, that kill, that kill.”

Built using the chassis of a Galaxy Squad set (Crater Creeper, I believe) I've had lying around for over a year and the three space-tribe Mixels. A good example of the kind of frame I use for custom Mixels/small hardsuits (except, well, it would have arms.)
I used this here www.flickr.com/photos/32636337@N06/4937924469/in/set-7215... . It's a very useful technique, so here's the m/v version so you can use it too.
Along with produce, and people, another thing in 2008 I did more of was night photography. Of course I'd always done lightning, but I was making an effort to actually go out and do more city lights and stuff than I had before.

Yes, I swear I'm going to go out and shoot this weekend.

Drying racks. These laundry jetties for washing carpets have been a feature of life in Finland for generations. They've become something of a tourist pull, as tour buses pull up at one of them - not this one, mercifully. For us, it's just a way of cleaning our carpets
Me first thing this morning, in my nightdress and dressing gown and wig but otherwise unadorned. The start of my third day in a row dressed and sadly the last of this run. But of course I'll be back.
Some blue thing came through in the afternoon that drove everybody crazy for miles around!

A familiar UK scene that will seem very old fashioned and possibly nostalgic before long. It puts me in mind of Telephone Thing by The Fall.

Volkswagen Type 181
A two-wheel drive, four-door, convertible, off-road, military vehicle manufactured by Volkswagen from 1968 to 1983. Originally developed for the West German Army, the Type 181 was also sold to the public, as the Kurierwagen in West Germany, the Trekker (RHD Type 182) in the United Kingdom, the Thing in the United States (1973–74), the Safari in Mexico and South America, and Pescaccia in Italy. Civilian sales ended after model year 1980.
Manufactured in Wolfsburg, West Germany (1968–74), Hannover, West Germany (1974–83), Puebla, Mexico (1970–80), and Jakarta, Indonesia (1973–80), the Type 181 shared some of its mechanicals with Volkswagen's Type 1 (Beetle) and the pre-1968 Volkswagen Microbus, and the floorpan of the Type1 Karmann-Ghia, and its concept with the company's Kübelwagen, which had been used by the German military during World War II.

Out and around my neighborhood mid-morning on a hot September day...
This motorcycle mirror caught my eye and then the mirror caught me too. I think the men working on an automotive repair were wondering what the heck I was doing. KK and I had been out for several hours in downtown Phoenix earlier and could not resist getting more "quality time" with our cameras when we returned to my home, even though it was now too late for decent light, Boy it gets blinding bright during the day here!
The thing I wanted to do most in Madrid was visit Philip II's hunting palace, El Escorial. This was also where he died. The experience was amazing and exhausting, and I am so glad I got to go.
Regresa a donde nos conocimos, todo fue tan extraño...
¿nos fuimos por el mal camino?
¿Nos lastimamos?
