Chloe: *plops down beside Suki* “Where’s Jon going?”

Suki: *licks the last bit of icing off her fork* “He’s gotta call some dude about a business thing. He’ll be right back. *offers her plate to Chloe* Want my strawberries?”

Chloe: “Yeah, thanks.” *grabs the offered berries, pops them into her mouth*

Suki: “Chlo…”

Chloe: *swallows* “Huh?”

Suki: “Have you ever been so happy that it’s edging into scared?”

Chloe: *nods* “Yep.”

Suki: “That’s where I’m at right now.”

Chloe: “I get that. You’ve never known a world without your grandfather. He’s been the monster under your bed, but unlike most kids, you couldn’t outgrow him, because he was real.”

Suki: “Yeah, there’s that. But that’s not what I meant. I don’t think Grandfather being dead has sunk in yet, and probably won’t for a while. I meant it’s so weird to see Ru smiling and laughing. He never did that before, at least not in public. He’s so happy, which makes me happy, but I’m scared, too.”

Chloe: *brow furrows* “Clarify.”

Suki: “Ru, he’s suffered a lot. Put up with a lot. He deserves this happy beginning more than anyone will ever know, and I’m straight up buggin’ over the thought that something’s gonna go wrong. It could all come crashin’ down, y’dig, ‘cuz the world’s just that kinda bitch sometimes. I just wanna protect him. I just wanna protect him like he’s always protected me. I owe him.”

Chloe: “He can take care of himself, Suk. And he doesn’t want your gratitude. He just wants you to be his bratty, little sister and love him.”

Suki: *sighs* “You know that scar above his eye? Grandfather backhanded him into a desk when we were kids. It was my fault.”

Chloe: *reaches over, twining her arm around Suki’s* “Wanna unload?”

.... well, we are home safe and sound albeit somewhat tired! However, as always it is great to see our "sweet thing." We had a great surprise when we arrived at Glasgow airport ~ after clearing Customs and collecting our bags - actually one bag is missing although we have been told it will be delivered either later this evening or tomorrow morning - we heard Pop Pop, Nana and our little Lewis came running towards us. Mom and Simon brought Lewis to the airport and that was also a sweet moment for my wife and yours truly!

Many bus and coach operators issued publicity guides to 'sell' their network and this, from the mid-1920s, is typical. One thing was less common in that the Bristol Tramways & Carriage Co Ltd. (whose magnificent title survived past the end of their tramways operation and into the 1950s!) were one of the few operators who built their own buses and coaches. The Bristol factory at Brislington would in fact, over the coming decades, churn out thousands of well-regarded vehicles that many other operators purchased, particularly in the nationalised years when Bristol had a 'captive' audience.

This edition of the guide shows a Bristol 'charabanc' on the Open Road, typical of the image of coach trip of the era and at a time when road motor transport was starting to make serious inroads into railway excursion travel. The booklet details 37 tours that the Company ran across the South West of England, many 'local' but including some fairly lengthy runs to destinations such as Stratford upon Avon and Bournemouth. The routes are shown on the two maps.

This edition fo the guide is produced by E Burrow & Co Ltd of Cheltenham, a publisher who became dominant in the niche market of 'official' guides and handbooks. The guide also conatins two adverts - one for the company's charabanc tours and another for the charabancs themselves. At the time the Commercial Vehicle section of the company, based at Brislington, was able to sell to the open market and their chassis were highly regarded.

I THINK I LOVE YOU .

Let's face it, sometimes you have to walk on the wild side, or as Seal put it, we're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy......."

The thing I like about dance is that people get completely lost in it; they lose the consciousness that there is a camera pointed at them. I don't really get that from other types of photography where people are involved.

Color is an amazing thing...it can evoke feelings of pleasure, joy, peace, energy, playfulness....you name it, and colors can create it. What colors do you use to paint your life? Do you choose carefully? Think of the most happy, joy-filled colors, think of peaceful colors, think of gentle colors, and then surround yourself with those very colors and watch your mood change accordingly. For me....today it's PINK colored with just a bit of blue....SPRINGTIME in my HEART!

NOTE: Thanks so much for your kind comments, visits, and invites. Your friendship helps to color my heart with joy!!!!

small thing

"As often as not our whole self turns its back contemptuously on the so-called great moments and emotions and engages itself in the most trivial of things, the shape of a particular hill, a road in the town in which we lived as children, the movement of the wind in grass. The things we shall take with us when we die will nearly all be small things."

Storm Jameson

"I find you in all the small and lovely things; in the little fishes like flames in the green water, in the furred and stupid softness of bumble-bees fat as laughter, in all the chiming radiance of warmth and light and scent in the summer garden."

So this thing is a bit weird for me. Definitely outside of my usual wheelhouse, so I guess I'll provide some background.

I've been a fan of Ninjago since it came out, and while my relationship with the line has been... turbulent at best, I've kept an eye on it, since it's kinda the last remaining bastion of my childhood that hasn't been hit with the unfeeling scythe of cancellation. That being said, I hadn't bought a Ninjago set since 2014, and with the end of BIONICLE G2, I basically stopped buying LEGO sets all together. I still spent an ungodly amount on Bricklink, but TLG hadn't seen a nickel from me since 2016...and then this happened.

Maybe it was nostalgia, maybe it was a desire to get the new parts and experiment with them, maybe it was an exercise in being less precious with money, or maybe I just really wanted to feel that rush of getting a new LEGO set again. I bit the bullet and bought the set. It was fine, a fun build with some neat new pieces. But half of the joy of LEGO sets for me is improving and revamping them to my own tastes. So that's what I did...it might have gotten out of hand.

I guess this technically counts as my first system MOC in at least half a decade. Feels weird, but it feels good.

My take on the mech definitely went in a much more anime direction, with inspiration being taken from Gurren Lagann and the Matoi Tech from Promare specifically.

Literally everything about the mech has been overhauled with the exception of the "wing pack" contraption on its back. I did want to keep places to mount Kai's weapons while he's in the pilot seat. So they remained on the arms.

Overall it's not super posable. The knees work well, but almost everything else has been somehow hindered in it's construction. Honestly I don't really mind. At the end of the day it's just gonna stand on my shelf and look cool.

I hope you all enjoyed this weirder post and MOC, I know I definitely enjoyed building it. It's been sitting on the shelf for a bit now, but with Prime Empire wrapping up I figure it's as good a time as ever.

Thank you, and have a great day!
