I buckled down this morning and did all the stitching on the binding. Voila! I'm delighted with this simple and cheerful quilt for the summer. I used a charm pack, plus additional fabric (not from the same line) for the borders and backing. The binding is the same fabric as the back, as I really liked it. Instead of quilting it, I tied it, using a random placement of blue and green embroidery floss knots. It's about 60" square.

top left isn't pretty but its a tight weave think it'll do better in an utilitarian manner. the pretty ones
i don't think are used in sewing.

Where ever we are we have to take the time to remember this is the best of all worlds...we need to get away from the TV....breath some air...and live. What better place than here where islands are placed in the Sea like pebbles, and houses grow like weeds on bare rocks...
From the very earliest days, Cool Springs camp and service station was an important stop for motorists traveling Arizona's Route 66. Cool Springs was built in the mid-1920s and has been connected with Route 66 from the very start.
Originally built in 1926, this Mobil Oil Station serviced Route 66 travelers until it burned in 1966.
Recently, it has been completely restored and is once again servicing Route 66 travelers!

we've had the most boring weekend! the weather is so drabby outside, too lazy to face the city's traffic in this weather, better just stay home says thimble.
The view from Scout Carson Lake was something else. This was my first time hiking through volcanic rock in the Sierra. Great changes in geology on this hike, even if some views were marred by Kirkwood's creeping.
This was the first part of a planned panorama. Still searching for decent free pano software...
