I couldn't get the outdoor photo I'd planned today, so took this instead. It's inspired by Sheila's beautiful photo yesterday. Do you think this thimble is the same as yours, Sheila? It's inscribed with the date 1899.
Only a 31 mile range left when we reached this overlook. We had only driven 9 miles from the bottom of the mountain up to this overlook, yet our mile range had dropped 58 miles. Elevation is 5160 feet - a gain of 2,308 feet elevaton. It was time to stop, enjoy the scenery, eat our picnic, and ignore any range anxiety I might have been feeling.
