The scale of the north side of Milford Sound can be appreciated from the size of the tour vessel further into the coast, Some of the smaller waterfalls from the tops are mere rainfall by the time they complete their journey into the fjord

They have almost all gone from the garden now, so this is a little tribute to them for reminding us that winter does not last for ever!

Cool facts from "all about birds":

Arctic Terns migrate from pole to pole; birds in North America travel around 25,000 miles each year.

Downy Arctic Tern hatchlings come in two colors: gray or brown. And chicks from the same nest aren't always the same color.

Arctic Terns can live for decades, but they usually do not start breeding until they are 3 or 4 years old.

The oldest recorded Arctic Tern was at least 34 years old, when it was recaptured and rereleased during a banding operation in Maine. This bird flew at least 850,000 miles, or 3 and a half times to the moon and back!!!

When molting its wing feathers during the winter, the Arctic Tern rarely flies; instead it spends much of its time resting on small blocks of ice at the edge of the pack ice.

Ja ze zijn er weer , maar ik kon er helaas niet dichterbij komen ze stonden boven op een heel steile helling bij de IJsselbrug :-(

Yes they are back, but unfortunately I could not get any closer they were on top of a very steep slope at the IJssel Bridge :-(

This little Ruby-throated Hummingbird has been showing up at the feeders for a few weeks now. There are several females starting to show up now, too. There isn't a lot blooming around the house, so I'm happy to settle for feeder shots for now.

Thank you to all who came and took a look at this image.... I so appreciate your friendship and support.

I did disable the comments... because I post too much, especially with garden flowers and it's hard for me to keep up with my replies...

Take care, enjoy the day and the last week in April!!

They are really working hard these days, several of them was relaxing and floating in the water and some of them was eager doing their stuff 🌱😊

They all do, a Blue Tit without an attitude has something wrong with it

Thanks for all your wonderful comments and posts, they are much appreciated!

Late evening, I watched as the great egrets and snowy egrets flew in to roost for the night. There were never so many before. Not a great photo because I couldn't get close to them but it shows that their numbers haven't diminished since Ike. In fact, even though I'm not seeing the seasonal birds, I'm seeing so many more of these guys.

⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

They should be back sometime soon.

They bring hope and joy and never bring justice when I capture them, but I need them in my feed even though 😍😆

They don't make them like this any more.

I'm thinking about a sea-change....anyone got any ideas? Definitely worthy viewing large!

Tree Swallows returned to build a nest for the second year!

My husband built nesting boxes to proper specifications and affixed them to tall metal poles. In Alaska chickadees thought these were just dandy.

Can you see the piece of long grass this swallow carries? And grass emerging from the bottom of the box? We clean the boxes thoroughly after use. Or my husband does ;)

There’s Calatrava wherever I go. I stumbled upon another one of Calatrava’s masterpieces in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the Canary Islands. The majestic profile of the Auditorio de Tenerife has become an architectural symbol of the city and it is also regarded as the finest modern building in the Canary Islands.

They’re Marigolds ready to be transplanted into a flowerpot beside the pool.

They were in Dura Den this morning.

Lovely to see the cows back and roaming free over Newcastle's parkland. These ones are making themselves comfortable on the Nuns Moor.

They all sat perfect for this shot.
