It's so lovely to see the second brood common blues back in good numbers near home - I saw very few of the first brood 💙

>> They say its not hard to be kind..so why don't you be ?

Make someone's day , before you decide to ruin it . Put a smile on they faces , instead of tears. Be kind. Be an empath . Be human. Stop hurting each other.

Spread love , instead of hate.

Words can hurt , more than physical violence , you can push someone to do unimaginable things. So stop ! Let's fight against bullies , cyber bullies , do that together ! <<

This is the second year I have seen these two here in our neck of the woods. If one would look at their range map, this area is not on it . It's north of us. These two are liking the area around the Pine Run Reservoir in Doylestown Pa.

I've been looking out for damselflies at a couple of favourite spots for the past couple of weeks, and last night finally the grass was alive with these little beauties zipping between the blades of grass!

I think this is a blue tailed damselfly...but I'm very happy to be corrected! And worth zooming in for those beautiful wings :)

……Says Jill! Nah - not a bit say’s I! Anyway if they didn’t you wouldn’t have smiled! I liked the natural folds they took rather than trying to neatly arrange them. This weeks theme is 'Fancy Fabrics' these I thought were a bit fancy! Happy Smile on Saturday one and all….. Alan:-)………

They have arrived en masse this week and singing their little hearts out

They are back and this one was part of my first group of the Summer.... Captured last night around 8pm... the best light next to sunrise and midnight sun. Hope it is going to be a good year for waxwings on Vancouver Island.

I was not sure at what stage the bluebird nest was at because I can not open it but today I caught her flying out wit an egg shell. Yeh they have started to hatch and it is truly exciting.

Wishing you all an awesome and blessed day !!

The lesser goldfinches we back in force today. A whole flock of them were gathered in one of the fields that I walk next to. Got a series of shots of them, always nice to see them around!

Off key but they don't seem to mind ;) Visit the Gypsy Camp at Lil Havana

They are normally quite easily spooked, but this one didn't seem that bothered by me at all! Manningtree estuary.

... they are only bijoux! ;-)

This theme also reminds me an old song of U2, "Silver and Gold", that was against apartheid.

Have a nice "Crazy Tuesday"!!!

Hint, they're on your right...

Actually the primary target was up the road on the left, a huge bull elk (shown in comments). I was first one, didn't take long before more stopped.

His girls were gathered around my car paying us no mind. The bull was warier keeping more distance. They must get tired of this.

Taken just north of Jasper AB. The place to be during the rut in the fall.

Thanks for taking a look!

They say...

They say... I am the woman with the pretty smile...

They say... That I make them laugh

They say... That I'm totally worth loving....

They say... That I'm a great person....

But what they don't know is that I'm only that person because others have broken me before, got rid of me like a piece of chewing gum stuck to the sole of their shoes.

The inner war has long since begun within me. And even though my thoughts are on a roller coaster, I know that one day it will be worth it. The pain, the tears and the memories will fade. They will never be gone. They are a part of me.

I think I'll try defying gravity...

It's no conspiracy... the pigeons really are revolting!

Just a fun non-people focused shot I captured in March 2019. Captured at arms length with some guesswork, there was no way I was getting down on the ground right there! Enjoy!

Heliconius clysonymus clysonymus Latreille, [1817]

Heliconius clysonymus is distributed from Honduras to Peru. In Colombia it is found in the 3 Andean mountain ranges between 1.200 and 2.300 meters. They are seen in deforested areas and small patches of forest, where they feed on nectar and pollen. The Heliconius are among the longest-living butterflies.

Cable Cars wait to be turned at the end of the line in Powell Street, San Francisco.

I kept an afternoon free to ride the city's iconic cable cars, which was as well, as I spent most of my time standing in impossibly long queues waiting to board the cars. Still, I had plenty of time to line up shots and make the odd video or two.

They might be going where there are no snapping turtles. The one in the lead has already had a good part of its tail bitten off. Another possibility is that it lost its tail to a raccoon or an otter, a family of which I've watched in this wetland.

They're either greeting each other or are madly in love. The penguins are about the same size, so it can't be a mother feeding her chick. But maybe. Taken in a Colorado Nature Park enclosure.

still on the weeping cherry. They have since blown away and the leaves are showing...

My friend Hanna's little boys enjoying the first snow at the cottage.

Because they find prey using the sensitive tips of their bills, and not just eyesight, Willets can feed both during the day and at night.

Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor) have returned! Oh, joy.

Thank you all for the kind words. These swallows look just remarkable flying so swiftly.

They build their mud nests on cliff faces, bridges, highway overpasses, culverts and under eaves. Their nests are communal, one next to the other. These were under the eaves of a park maintenance building, a challenging lighting situation.

They kept smiling for thousands of years. No cruelty in the world could take it away from them.

the osprey are nesting in the same nest again now so I'm excited. I will go back periodically and check on them and take photos. And thankfully now, I won't be lugging a toddler size lens and a tripod. Yah!!! I love this much smaller size and lighter weight equipment!

I go see my ortho doc this morning and hopefully won't have to wear my cast anymore. Things are healing well. Let's hope that's what the ex-ray will show. I'll catch up with you all later! ❤️

The peonies survived my vacation for the first time in many years 😃 This time the thunderstorm was only light and they managed to keep their petals 😉 I'm really glad I was able to see them in whole. More pics to come... TGIF!

They're like two peas in a pod when they get going.

Rooster as requested by someone.

A small selection of decorations outside this home (not ours!) They have a whole lot more!

HSoS ☠️👹🎃😈👻

They were foraging for spilt corn. When I was a kid large flocks like this were very common-today not so much (esp. redwing blackbirds)

Variegated Ladybird/Spotted Amber Ladybird (Hippodamia variegata)

While doing a 'nature walk' with Daniel and Sarah in the garden today we spotted the first Ladybird for the season.
