These young porcelain fungi will soon change color to white. I have never found such a large group of them before. It finally has enough moisture and the fungi take advantage of this.
Für dieses Bild musste ich zuerst mal einiges aufräumen um freie Sicht auf die Gruppe zu erhalten. Es war ein Gewirr von Aesten und Brombeerranken davor.

These mineral deposits in the park are amazing to see. Captured here under late afternoon lighting.

These woodpeckers can only be found in southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico and Mexico. They used to be called Strickland's Woodpecker.
they crack me up. Aggressive birds and they sound like little machine guns sometimes, but the acorn woodpeckers actually dominate them.
For this to look the way it should, your brightness feature for your screen needs to be up at it’s highest setting
Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot (Lennon, nobody told me). I am not sure whether it is fair to apply these lines to my village, but they happened to come to my mind when shooting this street scene. Helios 44M-7 wide-open.
These two sculptures are located outside one of the many doors of the palace of Ludwigsburg. The door leads directly into the southward facing part of the park. I only had a macro lens with me that day and had to take two photos, one of each sculpture, which I stitched together in Photoshop.
These owls will fly by very low and close especially if there is something of intertest to them in a direct line of flight on the other side of you.
Or maybe she was shocked to see me in my birthday suit. lol No word of a lie, I was sitting in the hot springs when I said to my friend... "Ahh, this feels good, now if only a bear would come and make my day." Much to my surprise ( jaw officially on the ground) not more than 10 minutes later out came a mama bear with two of the cutest baby cubs ever. They couldn't be more than a few months old. Mama bear told them to climb up to the tree top while she feasted on dandelions. I never got a shot of the babies, but the memory of them bouncing on spruce tree limbs will be something I'll never forget as long as I live. It really was a beary special moment.
These two left the feeder at the same time and nearly collided in mid-air. Disaster was avoided however and they each managed to keep their sunflowers seeds in their beaks.
The background in this is lavender bushes that were far enough away from the feeders to create a nice blur to them
These big skippers with the long tails fly up from Florida & South Georgia late in the summer. They often lose their tails in the process - this one is worn but still intact! My favorite butterfly to photograph. Amazing that such a small creature can fly hundreds of miles. Never common so each one is a treat.

These Bleeding hearts (AKA Dutchman's breeches) are a nice mid-Spring flower in the garden. They will feel some heavy rain to be followed by frost this weekend. I'm sure there's a story behind the 'bleeding heart' insult but this kind is bright and cheery.
These shrimp boats might have paddles. If they do not, well, then they-ah up Shem's Creek without a paddle.
That's downtown Charleston on the far shore.
These two brave ladies were wise enough to stay just within the old harbour at Portwrinkle, on the edge of Cornwall's Whitsand Bay, and avoid swimming in these stormy seas. Many years ago Portwrinkle was an important centre for pilchard fishing, but the old fish cellars in the village have now been converted into residences. The ancient harbour is just used occasionally by small boats and canoes. Looe and Looe Island are in the far distance while Shag Rock in the centre is to the east of the coastal village of Downderry.
These weeny mushrooms grow on a sidewalk in the gaps between the stones. Seen from above they looked like some bubble slime.

These are known to be highly volatile and tend to "evaporate" quickly after the container is opened.

These figurines were very popular 35 to 40 years ago. My daughters bought me this one for Mother's Day one year. It is called "Mommy I Love You," and is very cute!

Last in the series.
These buildings are by highway 401 in Mississauga, Ontario. I've always liked their shape and wanted to photograph them during my trips but never had the chance. We always pass by them and drive to Toronto. I apologize for the blur, this is the best I was able to get at 120km/hr :)
These lot must definitely be 'At the Hop' lol So many of these Rhododendron Leafhoppers around on this day! Near the little guy at the back is a shed exoskeleton but I'm not sure what it is!
These small shorebirds are very alert foragers and are very interesting and entertaining to observe. They forage by running in quick dashes, followed by pauses to look and listen for signs of prey in the low tide mudflats. These adorable little birds are also very curious and are fascinated by the camera. They study it for a bit and then make a quick dash to get closer. So cute😊

I’ve used this title and song before but this is a different YouTube video to go with it, it by itself seems fitting for the times we're in.

These two can be wild together non-stop. They were exhausted and I was able to snap a pic of them while they caught there breath
These birds are on the northern edge of their abnormal breeding grounds, but abnormal or not, they are here and this juvenile has shown up in the past few days, no doubt having been forced to go out on its own of late. Last night, two of these birds were calling quite prolifically around 10 to 11 PM. They are 'night herons' and feed mostly at night. They have big eyes to accomodate night vision and as they primarily eat crustaceans, i.e. crabs, their bills are short and stout, compared to fishing herons, as this bill is for crushing shells. This is three years running now we've had juveniles appearing around this time in this very same location. So they must like it here. This bird was out early and lurking in the shadows, quite shy.
