Pictures along the path to The Pool in Rocky Mountain National Park. Not too bad of a trail for my father. It gave him a bit of a challenge, but he did not sleep the night before (side effect of elevation / altitude change). He troopered through it quite well, but then we had to take a day off the trail.

Short walk in Central Park in the afternoon of 10.10.15 from the Harlem Meer up to The Pool.
Over the years that I've walked in the park, I've noticed this grove of trees in The Pool are always the first ones to turn color in the fall.
A walk in Central Park on 02.08.14, from The Reservoir up to the North Woods and ending at The Pool. It was a day after yet another winter storm which dumped more snow on top of snow in NYC.The tranquility and beauty of the northern part of the park more than made up for the biting cold and the trudging in the snow.

This was painted this past weekend in in New York city, on the west side of Manhattan. It is a painting of "The Pool" in Central Park (not to be confused with the Pond or the Lake) which is up close to 100th Street. It's beautiful at this time of year, the spring, with the weeping willows being bright yellow green. In the distance is a wall of trees and behind them, imperceptible, is the wall that surrounds the park, and behind that buildings of New York.

Central Park had its first instameet on 10.01.14. They invited a few instagrammers for a short tour of the north end of the park conducted by Central Park historian Sara Cedar Miller. It was raining a little bit when we started but that added to the beauty of the autumn day. After our short tour, we took in some night views of the park from the Arsenal. I ended the day with a walk around The Pond and across the Gapstow Bridge.
