Emerging from the Heilenman's Umbrella on a soggy Monday in December is this 1 year old E300. I noticed today that many of these branded buses have had their "every 6 mins" flash replaced with an "every 5 mins" version, illustrating the success of The One.
For many years Arriva The Shires Route 62 and Carousel Buses 'Line 4' have competed over the Chesham - Amersham - High Wycombe corridor. Recently however there has been an outbreak of common sense, and both operators have agreed to co-ordinate their timetables and publicity and to accept each other's return tickets.
The renumbered route, branded 'The One', commenced on 14th April. A number of buses in both fleets have now gained 'The One' branding - naturally Carousel is known as 'Red One' and Arriva as 'Blue One'! Carousel Buses Optare Tempo no. 801 is one such vehicle and is seen here at Chesham Broadway during the afternoon of Friday 19th April about to set off for High Wycombe.
Also in the scene is Redline's T427 AGP, a Marshall-bodied Dennis Dart that was new to London Central in 1999 and acquired in 2010. It has just arrived on town service 78 from Great Hivings, an area to the north-west of the town.
