Today was the Drive, Put and Chip Challenge put on for the young golf athletes who qualified their way through to the nationals. Instead of it being hosted at The First Tee, both boys and girls of their respective age groups were allowed to play at the Augusta National Golf Course - The finest golf course in the world.
As these very talented and young golfers competed, Bubba Watson came out to play through the course - smiling and greeting everyone along the way. A true champion!
I'm not even much of a Tiger fan but it was tough not to follow a group of Freddie, Tiger and Furyk. Another low res JPG getting me all jazzed up for 4 days of The Masters...

Hanging from the vault in the center of the Palatine Chapel is Barbarossa's Chandelier, a huge (4.2-meter diameter) bronze circlet commissioned by Frederick Barbarossa to celebrate Charlemagne's canonization. It was created in 1165-84 in Aachen and is inscribed with a dedication to Mary from Barbarossa and his wife Beatrix. On special holy days the candles are lit, which must be quite a spectacular sight.

Between 1002 and 1014, Henry II had a pulpit erected as an ambon in the east passage, which is among the most magnificent artistic treasures of the Ottonian Renaissance. Its inscription on the upper and lower edges clearly identifies its donor as Henry II, referring to him as REX PIVS HEINRICVS. The pulpit is made of an oak base and is decorated all over with filigree and precious stones, with many precious artifacts from antiquity, such as four repoussé copper reliefs with depictions of the Evangelists, as well as six ivory panels of the sixth century. The wooden staircase dates to 1782. The Ambon was thoroughly restored in 1816/1817 and again between 1926 and 1937. To this day the pulpit is in liturgical use for High Feasts of the church.
little inspiration i had while putting these guys together, the Rani tries to recreate the Doctor's hand-regrowing trick from The Christmas Invasion, and it doesn't go quite right.
*What hot dogs are to baseball, the Pimento Cheese sandwich is to the Masters' at Augusta. There are eight types of sandwiches sold at the Master's but the Pimento Cheese is the one to get. Although the exact recipe is a secret akin to the secret formula for Coke, it's made of pimento cheese and many on white bread. (Excerpted from About.com)
