Today was the Drive, Put and Chip Challenge put on for the young golf athletes who qualified their way through to the nationals. Instead of it being hosted at The First Tee, both boys and girls of their respective age groups were allowed to play at the Augusta National Golf Course - The finest golf course in the world.

As these very talented and young golfers competed, Bubba Watson came out to play through the course - smiling and greeting everyone along the way. A true champion!

Their only monument the asphalt road

And a thousand lost golf balls."

Petrus Christus (1410/1420–1475/1476) was an Early Netherlandish painter active in Bruges from 1444.

Christus was born in Baarle, near Antwerp and Breda. Long considered a student of and successor to Jan van Eyck, his paintings have sometimes been confused with those of Van Eyck. At the death of Van Eyck in 1441, it was reasoned, Christus took over his master's workshop. In fact, Christus purchased his Bruges citizenship in 1444, three years after Van Eyck's death. Had he been an active pupil in Van Eyck's Bruges workshop in 1441, he would have received his citizenship automatically after the customary period of one year and one day.

As a golfer and fan of the game, and like so many others, I've always looked at The Masters as a magical, almost mythical, event. As can be seen above, these fans from Australia know how to represent their Motherland.

The Masters, played at the equally esteemed and mythical club, Augusta National Golf Club, is unlike any other event and obtaining tickets to practice rounds and especially tournament rounds is beyond difficult. Tournament tickets have officially been unavailable for years. The only way to obtain one is through scalpers or the generosity of a Patron with a badge. In case you're wondering, people who attend The Masters are officially referred to as "Patrons" - just one of the many facets & traditions of this tournament that make it special. Through the generosity of friends, I've had the good fortune to attend The Masters twice - once on Friday and another time on a Saturday. Both times were magical.

Practice Round tickets are only available on a lottery basis. After sending in my application and striking out for the past six or seven years, I finally lucked out for 2011 and was able to get tickets for myself, my son, and my father. My father introduced me to the game of golf and we spent many, many hours together on various courses around US.

To be able to spend the day at such a special place with such special people is one of the highlights of my life.

Gary loves Augusta National!

"Well, hello, big boy. Captain Jack Harkness," flirts Jack as he holds out his hand to Brad.

"Jaaaack," I say.

The Master just looks on with disgust.
