For the Macro Mondays theme "The Beauty of Bokeh." Photographed at the Fashions for Evergreens display at the Inn at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia
Unsure of the specific type but possibly Candle-Snuff fungi. Taken on the North York Moors. Spotted growing out of a log. Any I.D confirmation welcome
Macro Mondays 21/12/15........Apologies for posting an old shot this week. Camera problems I'm afraid
Here's one, from the archives, of a small Oriental Poppy, here for a day. We did have lots of poppies. I love the light and colour. There's never a flower without an insect, and the tiny insect this time is on the left hand side.

For Macro Mondays - The Beauty of Bokeh weekly theme.
My Sea Lavender is quite huge, and covered in flowers.
The bees love it and so do I.
Created for the Macro Mondays challenge (December 21st 2015) "The Beauty of Bokeh"
PA - "Christmas Colours"
Thanks for the link in the discussion thread for this week's theme The Beauty of Bokeh I thought that Bokeh had to be limited to the out-of-focus play of the lens on distinct points of light - and that's what my offering for this week is all about.
But reading through the 2 articles I discovered that a lot of soft, silky 'blur' created just by the distance between the subject and the background can also be included within the term Bokeh.
I've got 2 macro lenses, and both have their strengths, and can offer differing bokeh effects. And then I use a Lensbaby ComposerPro with 2 macro filters as well, so there's a whole lot more to experiment and play with ;o)
This was shot using the Sony E-Mount 30mm/F3.5 macro. It features a 7-blade circular aperture, which the Sony site says offers "more natural, rounded defocusing or ‘bokeh’." I used it here with F13 - using a small Christmas tree ornament laid on glass, and a background of tinsel.
Thanks to hcorper for the idea of taking the same shot using different macro lenses.. I've uploaded 2 more shots - Silver and Gold 2 and Silver and Gold 3, just for the fun of comparing what happens. There are 3 shots in the sequence - hope you enjoy the comparisons ;o)
Links to shots using the other 2 macro lenses are in the first comment field.

The Beauty of being an adult is that you can buy your own gifts throughout the whole year. And then you realise, that you need tons of expansions for your pre-christmas gift. And the more often you say "Mmmhhh it would be sooo nice to have more cars and track sections." while playing, the more likely it is that you get them as real christmas gits. Hopefully!

I feel lucky to have inherited old sewing bobbins, needles, thread still on old spools, and an old and functioning Singer sewing machine—with replacement parts! Some day I'll use them for more than photo subjects.

Thanks for your previous fun comments. Photo for #MacroMonday and theme #Beauty of bokeh, in this case smooth bokeh—no bokeh bubbles.
The MacroMonday group offered a link to an informative article (off Flickr) on understanding bokeh.

This confused plant is Cyclamen hederifolium "Stargazer" and for some reason it is flowering right now.
Right now, it's summer in Australia.
It has 5 blooms on it, and not a leaf in sight.
It had leaves in spring but no flowers.
What an individual !!
