This was shot through a car windshield at night. It just rained, so there were water drops/droplets on the glass. Lens was 135mm/f2 with a ND filter attached. As I was playing with manual focus these round structures gradually took shape complete with the 'flaws'. I am not sure what the flaws are due to, but I suspect it has something to do with the wiper leaving fine water droplets of various shapes on the glass.
So, no special technique used, no texture added.

There are many beautifully coloured houses in the old town. My house is from 1700. The red part to the right is an old boathouse.

Again, more textures at play...I liked the idea of balancing the strong detail of the roof grasses against a background with similar character.
I thought I would have a go at creating some images that would be usefull as a plain simple desktop background (on a PC) or maybe used as a texture layer in photoshop.
