Bayou La Batre is the seafood capital of Alabama but its main industry is ship building. Most of the shrimp boats you find there would have been built locally. I processed this image in Photoshop and textured it using Lenabem-Anna J’s textures 334, and 389 plus a couple of other textures.

The Maudaiae type of Paphhiopedilum, single flowered hybrid called after one of the first, and most delightful, hybrids made within this group. Their oval leaves are attractively mottled in green and gray-green, sometimes darkly peppered on the undersides, and their elegant flowers, carried proudly on tall, slender stems.

On the southeastern edge of Rosh HaAyin is Migdal Tsedek (lit. Tower of Justice), a white Ottoman-era building marking the site of a fortress used by the Jewish rebels who fought the Romans in 66-70 CE. The building was constructed over Byzantine and Crusader remains.

Two old rainforest tree trunks are supporting a mini-ecosystem of mosses and ferns growing on their bark. What else is there?
