I managed to take a walk today, a day a bit 'more "warm" than the previous ones.
I did not have the "official" camera with me because I wanted to be free of weight and photographic obligations.
I wanted to enjoy the walk and I found myself, instead, taking a lot of photos of the fascinating river and the path in winter clothes.
This small nikon compact, now dated, is able to capture the "mood" of the environment, probably better than the other, has no claims in detail, all that immortal is what I needed today- the essence of the river in winter, in its apparent calm, in the dull colors, in the bony trees and in the total absence of living beings of all kinds....
Fabrizio De André - Le acciughe fanno il pallone (Live)
The chosen music has nothing to do with the photo, but is a tribute to De André in the twenty years since his death and a tribute to my father on his birthday ....
Thanks for your recent visits, favorites, comments and invitations, everything is very much appreciated, as always....

...once of my most favourited pictures on Flickr. A textured work, with textures of Les Brumes.
Just to mention...but it wasn't anything significant, anyway. :)

A mottled emigrant butterfly on the Jamaican spike flowers. The texture on it's wings is remarkable, and the direction of light here enhances it just right.
This was processed with Photoshop, JixPix Pastello, and JixPix Imppresso Pro. It was processed with several of my blended textures.

This is the effect of the freezing fog we have been experiencing this winter. {better large}
When the temperature drops below zero during a foggy night, the next morning you can spot these lovely tiny icy needles on the leaves.
Textures with thanks to PlayingWithBrushes

Watkins Glen State Park is in the village of Watkins Glen, south of Seneca Lake in Schuyler County in New York's Finger Lakes region. Known for its natural beauty, the Watkins Glen State Park features a series of waterfalls and gorges that are sure to amaze anyone. An almost two mile hike will take you past 19 waterfalls and up over 800 stone steps. We spent a morning there in October; it was a true bucket list experience. We went on a weekday morning, so there weren’t a lot of people. The water flow was down, but the fall colors were at their peak. The manmade stonework blends seamlessly with the natural stone, like it was made by the dwarfs of Middle Earth. The hike was so amazing I didn’t even notice the 800 steps.
I processed this picture in Photoshop using four textures.
7 at the morning and already hot as hell, so weekend was spent with 45 degrees outside. View to Mitzpe Ramon, Israel.
This was the last time I photographed the Lady Louise. For seven years she sat in that spot rotting away. She is the subject of some of my best work. This was from 2022 and her cabin had caved in so she was not the subject she used to be, but still she added value to this image. She sits now on the bottom of the Gulf, just a few miles south of Apalachicola, providing a home for the fishes and other sea creatures.
I processed this in Photoshop and textured it with at least two textures.
