Over the weekend, students celebrated Holi, the Hindu “Festival of Colors,” with a color run across campus and a festival on the Quad. Observed primarily in India and Nepal, Holi celebrates the vibrant colors of spring and is intended to break down the social boundaries of class, religion, gender, and age. The highlight of Holi is when people throw colorful scented powder and perfumed water at each other.

The Fall of Princes, produced around 1480, is a work by John Lydgate (ca.1370-1451) on the fortunes of famous people and how fate brought about their downfall. Lydgate based his text on a similar work by Boccaccio.

Started drawing this tiny carnivorous plant early this morning; then discovered that teeny tiny was last week's Rural Sketchers theme. Went back and looked again super close, and tried photography too. Yikes. This is tiny. 4mm (just over 1/8 in). And hard to draw. (I'll try again sometime.)
4 mm. Et difficile d’esquisser. (Je vais essayer encore un autre jour.)
Miami Hurricanes "Home Field" 48" x 60" Woven Tapestry Throw These heirloom quality throws are a tribute to American craftsmanship. Throughout history, tapestries have commemorated special events. Tapestries are amazingly detailed and colorful. This throw can be used at the game, on a picnic, in the bedroom, or cuddle under it in the den while watching the game. Use it as a room accent, bed covering, throw blanket or wall-hanging. Tapestries are approx. 48" x 60" with fringes on all sides.

The Crystal Grottoes Caverns were founded in 1920 when the State Roads Commission was quarrying for limestone to build up and pave State Route 34. After successfully quarrying back a cliff that was 35 to 55 feet high and 150 feet deep, an unusual event occurred. The next time they started to drill, they lost their drill bits in the cave. Later, when dynamite was detonated in the drill holes, the first entrance was produced.
Playing along for Flickr Group Roulette Theme Day of Magazine Covers. I got my Fugger 2009 Calender in the mail a few days ago. Upon seeing the FGR theme for Tuesday I finally new how to photograph receiving it.
There aren't that many left and all the $money $ goes to charity.
Yes, the pictures are silly. Yes it's a matter of taste. Say what?
The most important part is how the cost goes to charities.
Charities: ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Multiple Sclerosis.
This strikes a cord to me personally because I lost an aunt to MS a few years back. Her kind heart, warm smile and loving tone to life were such a joy to see even while her body failed her.
Thanks you The Trial and Grateful Clem for putting this together. Very proud to see we can be silly and do some good.

The sea Organization knows no shame when it comes to begging for money.
I resigned in 2010 because of the Sea Organization human rights violations - specifically their policy and practice of modern day slavery.
Afterward, I was declared a political enemy and excommunicated.
Despite that, the desperate Sea Of beggars continue to call, text and e-mail me for money.
