a project to provide photos for some memories of my childhood
I used a Graflex Super Graphic, with Adox chs50 film developed in homemade Beutler a+b. I contact printed onto some old Kentmere Art Classic and developed in homemade Agfa 135. This has given a soft, warm look
These prints have been scanned with some correction in photoshop to get the tone near to the originals

Damn, I had the most disturbing dream last night. What i remember, (I'm not going to bore you with the whole thing), but in the end, this lady was driving somewhere in a carriage, thing (this was in the 1800s, mind you) and her 2 kids, on the inside, asked her what they could eat because they were hungry. She told them there was a bag behind them full of food. I don't know WHY but the boy grabbed a water squirter... thing, that was full of some unknown substance and sprayed the substance in his mouth, then he did the same thing to his sister and after a while they started coughing uncontrollably. The mom didn't hear, and after about 10 minutes, the driver looked back and he goes 'Oh miss!' and she turns around and lets out the most disturbing scream, and that's when i wake up. kfdjgnfjlk It makes me shudder.

Manuscript title: Johannes Cassianus, Collationes Patrum
Manuscript summary: This copy of Cassian's Collationes contains on 1r a two-line ownership note attributing the codex to Abbot Berchtold of Engelberg (1178-1197) as well as the beginning of a dedicatory poem to the Virgin Mary, the monastery's patron saint. Both inscriptions also appear verbatim in the volumes that were written under Berchtold's predecessor Frowin (1143-1178). Decorated initials introduce each of the collationes, and sometimes the chapter-lists; between the collationes the text is divided with red decorated capitals. Tears and holes in the parchment have been artistically sewn up; of particular note are those on 48v and 190v.

I still haven't been able to put this lens through its paces. I'm looking forward to building my portrait experience, and hopefully this tool will give me the confidence to take it to the next level. Yes, I'm a gear whore, but who cares. This is a happy medium from the real cream machine, haha.

This is a finely illuminated and iconographically rich Book of Hours, made in England at the end of the thirteenth century. The manuscript is incomplete and misbound. Its main artist can also be found at work in a Bible, Oxford, Bodleian Library Ms. Auct. D.3.2, and a Psalter, Cambridge, Trinity College Cambridge Ms. O.4.16. The manuscript contains a number of unusual texts including the Hours of Jesus Crucified, and the Office of St. Catherine. The patron of the manuscript is not clear: a woman is depicted as praying in many of the initials, but rubrics in the Office of the Dead mention "freres". The imagery is marvellously inventive, and the Hours of Christ Crucified are graced with images depicting the Funeral of Reynard the Fox in its margins. In the absence of a Calendar, it is not possible to locate the origin of the manuscript precisely.

Like it? It's yours for the right price. If no one saves it, it'll be landfill when the building is purchased and bulldozed. I'd take it in a heartbeat, but it's far too large for my property. I didn't measure it, but I'd guess it's about 8 or 10 feet across, and somewhere between 15 and 20 feet high. A lot of the neon tubing is intact, but as far as I know, it's not working. I'm someone could restore it, if interested.
It'd be a shame to see it crushed and discarded.
UPDATE: As of Nov 25th, the sign has been removed, and is on it's way to it's new owner in North Dakota. (A sign collector) I'm proud that I could help save this sign.

I don't know anything about this building nor can I determine why it has 2 dates. Other than the weird misaligned front doors, there's nothing that would indicate it was built in 2 parts.
Just to let you all know I'm still alive (not that you were worried).
We got our new computer yesterday but it doesn't have Photoshop or anything on it, so this is a really old picture (taken at the Grand Canyon!) that I edited using Picnik.com.
Soon I will be back to normal. SOON. I hope.
