Did a lighting test for an idea, and didn't have anyone to stand-in for me, so I had to do it myself. Six strobes, various kinds (3 alien bee, 2 JTL, 1 Sunpak 120j) I have enough strobes for four rows, but not enough slaves to trigger some of the lights, so I had to settle on six lights.
I like the effect, and will like it even more when I have a handsome/beautiful model in front of the lights instead of, erm, me.
Quick grab shot from the window of my train as it left Reading, Thursday 19th December 1974. Actually this was the last of three snaps I took in rapid succession; the previous two gave a much better view of the prototype HST but were ruined by my Praktica LTL's one unforgiveable sin of camera-shake. Hundreds of good shots were lost over the years. Colour film, usually 80ASA in those days, was ruled out in all but dependably good light; grainy Ilford HP4 was requisite in winter and even then I didn't trust the camera at any speed lower than 1/250th. If I had the chance I took two shots to increase the likelihood of one presentable result. Usually, if I did this, both versions turned out perfectly. I'd only had the camera a year and felt I had to persevere with it. I put up with these impediments, but finally replaced the camera in 1979. It was a pity. When the results were problem-free they were often very good.
The prototype HST which, in its production version was to become the "Inter-City 125", was undergoing test runs between Reading and Swindon. Suits, white shirts and ties were much in evidence among the passengers. Press run? BR top brass? One of the power cars was out of action. The train on which I was travelling was the 13:15 Paddington-Cardiff, D1064 WESTERN REGENT up front. The GWR seat and that set-back length of platform edge were favourite vantage points for platform-enders.
Accidental FatMandy/LauraMary collaborative double exposure.
(Laurs & I have different opinions about whether to wind on a film immediately after shooting or immediately before. She is wrong.)
This was the first roll that I put through the TLR that I picked up on the cheap via eBay.
On first viewing, the thumbnails are quite promising, but a not-so-close look quickly reveals my hopeless inability to operate the focus mechanism.
Lesson learnt.
Bring on film two!
Testing Leaf Credo at ISO 400, 110mm handheld wide open at 2.8. So far ISO 400 seems ok, 200 may use with beautiful results. The back seems sharper than my CMOS IQ250 & IQ100.
In studio lights for product or portraits it will shine no doubts.
Former Cross Country Trains operated Class 43 HST power car 43303 (43103) now in use with Colas Rail, is seen stabled on platform 6 a south facing bay platform having worked in with the 1Q13 14.10 Carlisle-York Network Rail monitoring test train.

Had I known Test Track was going in for a major refurb the last time I was there, I would have made more of an effort to shoot on-board images. I tried to get some fisheye shots on that trip, but both times I wound up in the back seat. So here's a wide-angle image I shot on an earlier trip with my Sigma 10-20. Actually, this is a composite of two images -- I replaced the original image of the car interior with another, similar exposure from the same turn riding, because the car in the original version had too much motion blur for my taste, but I love the steeply exaggerated perspective on the building.
