In the early afternoon the schools emptied. The kids from the local JSS school came to watch. Kojo (here in blue) told us that he was using his brother's bike... and that everyday his classmates would 'worry him' to borrow it and run errands...

Out of 200 bicycles in August's program, more than half will be going to girls...

Like bulls, ready for attack. The uphill racers first of all came down together for a photo shoot.

At Ökowerk there were several activities: testriding Birdys, historical bicycle show, slides about touring in Madagascar by Dietmar Böhm, the story about Bird in Japan, uphill races, and several contests for the lightest and the most beautifully tuned Birdy.

In northern Ghana, cycling is a way of life. There are miles and mile of outback beaten track. Besides walking, often the only option is cycling. These women didn't own bicycles... but they knew how to ride...

I'm sorry that I don't have any information about these bicycles, but intriguing they were for certain.

Taking Michael Powell Parich's modified (coupled, rear dropouts yeeted and replaced with modular d/o's + a disc mount, seatstays replaced with a couple of True Temper lightweight stays I had in my framebuilding mess) italian frame out for the first of a series of post-modification test rides.

Built up as a 1×11 di2 machine (because di2 is /insanely/ easy to throw onto a 1×11 transmission) with a 48t Biopace chainring + an 11-38 cassette and with the di2 wiring ziptied and taped into place for that professional look.

Christian and Gunda didn't take only their Airolos tandem and Birdy red with them, but also two home built folding bikes. This is one of them. Maybe Gunda could give some more information as a comment?
