My dad came into town to visit my sister and I for Thanksgiving. The only thing I wanted to do was having him try out a Dutch bike. He rode my favorite, the WorkCycles Fr8.
Now that I'm using Apple's Aperture, I've started experimenting with color and other adjustments, like the sepia you see.

In deze maand, januari 2012, zijn nieuwe testritten van start gegaan over de Hanzelijn. Tot en met Juni wordt door Prorail in samenwerking met uitvoerder Hanzarailteam de techniek van de spoorlijn op de proef gesteld.
De polder in en maar wachten op de testrun - eindelijk was er een indicatie dat er wat zou komen - een sein sprong op groen - in de polder is altijd wat te doen ;) - trouwens de eerste keer dat ik in al die jaren een sein hier op groen heb zien springen 'D

In januari 2012 new testrides on the new Hanzelijn - between Lelystad and Zwolle - are started, the will last until June of this year. ProRail, rail network maintainer, and the builders of the Hanzelijn test the technique of the line.
A testride was spotted on 25 januari in the morning, got dry in the afternoon so i went into the polders to take a peek.
I stood there waiting for the testrun to take place ..... at last some action - a sign switched to green , yeah - the first time i could really see something was coming - until this point all colours i had see in last year where red ..... now waiting for the loc to come.

26 inch wheels. I do own 'one' 650-B bike. A Raleigh, Mountain Tour from the 1980's. It's more a street machine than a dirt bike, It climbs poorly on steep dirt inclines, with the front wheel wanting to pop-up all too often, and that made climbing harder than need be. I've been neglecting it for some time due to the expense of tires but since 650-B's, (27.5), have made a fantastic come-back, tires have become more reasonable. It will be my next project.

I don't have the right front cargo platform for this frame (there were two of them, one fit and the other didn't, because that's just how 2020 rolls) so I test-rode it with just the bare frame.
Hoo boy, this thing /planes/ like it's going out of style. When I turn I can see the front end starting to head off in the direction I want to go before the turning works it way back to me, and the almost completely unbraced cargo area bounces like a leaf spring.
And, of course, no front brake because not only is the wheel too small to fit cantis or v-brakes, it's so far away from the brake lever that I need a tandem-length brake cable to reach.
But aside from that, it rides and the front end is not at all sloppy, so victory and soon I'll be able to hand it back to the bike shop and get paid for my work.
