What the heck?
I'll tell ya what the heck:
Test prints are an integral and often surprisingly beautiful and playful part of the hand printed process. They are never ever the same, and therefore true, one-of-a-kind, individual Monoprints. Made from varied layers and layers of inks from different print runs to check colors, clean out a messy screen and a dozen other reasons, Test Prints are spontaneously created and basically, magical. Hence once a test print is sold, that's it, gone baby.
I keep a few with me in the studio while printing and every now and then one looks suddenly nice & done. Like this one!

This test of the lens was taken At Log Boom Park in Kenmore, WA on a very overcast afternoon.
These tests were intentionally hand held.
I just picked up the Sigma APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM lens as a purchase from Lensrentalsdotcom. I am really blown away by this lens. The knock on this lens since last years intro was Sigma's quality control. Yes the lens I bought is used, but the good people at Lensrentals did a great job checking this one out and it was a super deal!
Additional knocks I have heard about Sigma long lenses in general is that they are soft and lacked contrast relative to Nikon's lenses. Also, I have heard that the color was lacking as well.
While it is not quite on par with my 300 f/4, it is better than the Nikon 80-400 that I rented(not from Lensrentals unfortunately). It is faster focusing, the OS beat out the 80-400 VR(BTW, this was the worst VR implementation I have used) and I think it is a push on sharpness. It is time for Nikon to get an update on their lens! In the mean time I will enjoy my under $600 purchase and I may just sell my 300 f/4.

This was a sample roll through a new/old camera, and as is typical from such an old camera it was off to the repair tech afterwards.
Testing my recent purchase. All @ f/5.6, wide open. Originally purchased from eBay for $34.99. When it arrived I discovered it did not fit my Pentax M42 adapter as described in the listing on ebay. There was also another attachment on the lens. The attachment may very well be a T Mount to Leica adapter. The actual mount on the camera is a T2 Mount/T Mount. I purchased a T Mount to EOS EF adapter($5.99 w/free ship)....here are some initial results with the lens.

Tweaked the collimation a bit more but seeing was really poor...then cloudy
Fine adjustment takes only a minute once you are already close...and only very small turns of the screw.
EDIT Looks a lot darker at my work screen...in daylight...(!)
Our small test site is within a much larger one on this UP line.

Leica M9 with a Leica Visoflex 3 and the original 200mm f/4.5 Telyt lens @ f/4.5. The original 200mm Telyt was the first true telephoto lens made for the Leica. This is one of my first test shots, and I think it's going to be an interesting lens to play with. The minimum distance is 300cm, or nearly 10 feet. The copy I just purchased includes the lens hood.
Test describes thsi picture very well. I found this old ice-glasses (turned out to be my dad's), and tested if they fit (yes, they do, very well). Then I was to lazy to search a mirror, and tested if my cam can do it (yes, it can). Then I tested how to do a colormapping in Gimp, and well... this is the result. I post it here jsut to see if someone has some tips or questions on one of the above topics, since from a photography standpoint this picture is really crappy...
