Happy World Photography Day

I was out foraging mushrooms today and came across this young guy again. I ran into him last year in the same meadow. He’s much bigger than he looks. To get a closer shot, I was working my way to the wood-line on the right. I keep my distance, hide behind trees, so not to disturb him. As I did; a green Nisan SUV was speeding up the road. It stopped quickly when it saw me and the bear. It backed up, pulled forward, backed up again, flashing its headlights, to scare the bear off. This was done intentionally by one of Yosemite’s Mobbing Low-lifes, to prevent me from getting a good picture. This young bear fresh out of hibernation, hungry and feeding on the new deer grass. And, someone terrifies him, just to piss me off. Acts like this are common, when I go out for photography or enjoyment. This is the face of Yosemite’s Mobbing Community. These people have no regard for the wildlife, the impact they have on them or the park. As long as they can harass their target and spread their hate.

As I said; I came across this guy last year in the same meadow. There’s a picture of him in my photostream, standing in the deer grass up to his shoulders. I can be pretty stealthy when I need to. I worked into the dark wood-line on the right, last year. I was in the woods working closer to the meadow and the bear. The woods were thick and when I got closer to the meadow, the bear had moved closer to the edge. I came up to a clearing and there he was. I was a bit to close, took a couple quick, blown out shots. He heard the camera, looked up and wasn’t happy. He stared right at me and started swaying, shifting weight from side to side. That’s not a good sign coming from a bear. I started backing up, the woods thick and dark. I moved slowly backwards with my face towards him and snapped a big tree limb. When the limb snapped, it scared up a Great Horned Owl that was feeding on a ground squirrel. It was the loudest owl I’ve ever heard. I nearly shit myself, I may have farted, I don’t know. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Yep, I was the one terrified that year.

Now back to the haters. After the jerk scared the bear off; I went to a couple other areas searching for morel mushrooms. I didn’t find any. When I made it back to the meadow much later; there was another one of Yosemite’s Mobbers setting across the road in a pickup truck. He was there to make sure the bear didn’t return. This bear wasn’t disturbing anyone, just wanted to get a much needed meal. You can see some snow still in the wood-lines, the elevation there is 6175 feet.

As Yosemite's Mobbing community spreads hate and terror, many brave Americas are finding ways to help those in need, during a Pandemic.

I know my comments are controversial, but real life often is. Many of us know; the truth can be terrifying and is often hidden from the general public.

The morning sun streaming through the window at 6:00am woke Gavin of Lockwood up. He blinked and sat up on the edge of his bed. Groggily he rubbed his eyes and wished he could sleep another hour. Instantly it was dark. Gavin started, fully awake now.

"Now what was that?"

He listened carefully for any sounds of commotion. There was none. He sneaked to the door and cracked it open. Nobody. Usually at 6:00am the hallways were alive with servants bearing trays and the like for breakfast. But today there was no one. Gavin was stumped. He glanced out the window. The sun! It wasn't coming into his room anymore! Gavin ran to the window and looked out. The sun was just coming over the edge of the horizon. Gavin rubbed his eyes and looked again. Still there.

"Hmm... very odd. Maybe I'm dreaming. Yeah. I bet that's it."

And yet he had a sinking feeling he wasn't dreaming. Something had happened, and he wasn't quite sure what. He went back to bed, opened his eyes, sat up and rubbed his eyes. Nothing happened. Then he remembered. He had wished he could sleep another hour. Sure enough, the sun was just rising, meaning it would be sometime about... 5:00am. Gavin swallowed and thought I wish I had my sword in my hand. Instantly it was. Gavin realized there was no mistaking it.

He could work magic. Magic, forbidden in the land of Roawia. He ran out into the halls, clad in his pajamas. Nobody. Absolutely quiet. He tip-toed to the door of his friend who was staying the night. Still asleep.

It must be that the time literally turned back, Gavin thought. He was terrified. A baron of Loreos, with the ability to work magic. He could be exiled for that. At least nobody knew it had happened. And nobody ever would, since they were all sleeping. For the present, he was safe.

Terrifying beast.

This is my bad dog (the one that bit someone), and who is terrified of thunder, fireworks, and cameras!

I had been having a really hard time getting my off-camera flash to fire...so I played with it today.

The flash was lying in the floor about 3 foot in front of him, I also used the on-camera flash as a bit of fill from the front-top.

One crook that was beheaded many years ago is still clearly terrified by what happened. No body can help him now! Taken at Queen Square in Bath. Happy Halloween to all contacts and viewers.

You’re the only poem I could never write. And how could I? Words could never do justice to explain the way I feel about you. For me, you are that person who can only be experienced. The kind of experience that brightens your dying flame forever. Anybody would be terrified to miss out on that experience. Especially when it could be the only one you’d ever get.

My next dragon from "How To Train Your Dragon" is the rare and yet terrifying Boneknapper.

The Boneknapper is a species of dragon that is thought to be mythical or non-existent to the Vikings due to it's strange nature. As it's name suggests, the Boneknapper spends most of it's life collecting pieces of bones in order to create the perfect battle armor.

These dragons go the great lengths to find the right bone part in order to complete it's bone armor.

As well as hunting down the fragments for many years.

Some have set off to find the reclusive Boneknapper, only to disappear and become apart of the dragon.

This guy has been the most unstable and unbalanced dragon I have ever made (notice the trans-clear stabilizer beneath).

Sorry about the clumsy looking wings, brick-built wings are not my best.

But now that I've made the Boneknapper, there is just one more dragon left that I have to make next. Ugh...

The oldest and most terrifying of Lenfald's natural wonders is the Dragon's Maw, which sits at the root of the Dragonscale Mountains and for which both that range and the city of Dragonsmouth were named. The Dragon's Maw is the fearsome entrance to a massive cavern that is said to lead down into the very bowels of the earth. The rock in its interior and the landscape in front of it is scorched and nothing has grown there for ages. Its name is derived from both its resemblance to a monster's jaws and from the heat that constantly radiates from its core. At intervals ranging from a few months to centuries apart, the mountain will begin to shake and rumble and a deep orange glow will appear within the Dragon's Maw, followed by an explosion of fire and ash from within the beast. The fire consumes all in its path and then dies away, leaving all peaceful and still once again. The ancient tribes that once inhabited the mountain would offer sacrifices to try to appease the beast and quell its rage, but they eventually abandoned the area altogether. The Dragon's Maw has lain dormant for almost a century now... who knows when it might come back to life?

Well that may be what the advert on the side says, but it was a lovely day with bits of blue sky and some not so white clouds; chilling and terrifying definitely not.

Threat

The discomfiting force and terrifying beauty of a nuclear explosion had always fascinated me. I remember how breathtaking it was to watch the scene from Terminator 2, where the lead character burned down the children’s playground in a regular American town. It came out to be the main female character’s dream. There is a similar nightmare in my life as well. A nuclear explosion, a burst of light, and an air blast that I see in the dream instantly wake me. These days, it seems to be closer to reality than ever before.

Fear, anxiety, debility, panic attacks – all of it is a chain reaction of the tragedy of understanding that the threat of using a nuclear weapon exists. I see the aftermath of the social-psychological and physiological nature that affects my friends, family, and me. This series is an attempt to highlight all common fears and anxieties. It attempts to speed up the decay of the thought about the possibility of a nuclear war happening and returning to a world without wars.

Walking on clear ice, at night, with a flashlight is more terrifying than looking over the edge of a cliff for me. (and my fear of heights is pretty strong)

Even here, where I could see that it was quite shallow, still scared me when I turned the light off and heard the groaning and cracking of the ice during the quite of night.

I've gone further out at night, and some of the louder pops and cracks instantly rendered my legs useless, aside from just barley holding my own weightt. I only froze for 10-20 seconds, but this happened a few times before I couldn't handle the stress any more and wrapped the light painting session up early.

Always be super careful on ice! It's dangerous in a lot of ways.

I made this one from 182 photos, plus the shot of myself and maybe a few for lighting the ice.

So I was browsing one of those knockoff doll websites looking for some cheapo Witty Winx dolls for customization purposes and I found...
