A ring-shaped terrace in Luoping county of Yunnan Province in China. This place is famous for canola flower shooting.
The Terrace is an outdoor area along the banks of the Avon river in central Christchurch New Zealand.
Located opposite the Almacenes San José Artisans' Market, these dwellings appear to have been converted from warehousing.

This is a just little sample of the gorgeous scenery around Lake Superior. A short distance upstream are the Aguasabon falls and gorge.

Went for a spin the other night from Dalkey to Dunlaoghaire and this was one of the places i stopped off in. This is a shot from Sorrento Park looking down on the most expensive terraced houses in Ireland.... i notice they don't have much of a garden - can't have everything i guess... The view ain't bad i suppose!

Bethesda Terrace in Central Park has a wonderful sequence of views. Approaching from the top of a staircase, where this photo was taken, leads you under the arches of the bridge and into the lower passage pictured here.The lower passage has 15,000 colourful tiles on the walls and ceilings which reflect the indirect light coming in and brighten the space. Leaving the passage brings you out into the full daylight of the plaza/fountain.
This busker has one of the prime locations in New York. Great acoustics and lots of foot traffic funnelled past him.
I had to be patient taking this photo. There were a lot of people going through the passage and stopping to listen to the musician. I didn’t mind having some people in the photo but I didn’t want so many that they distracted from the architectural elements, the musician’s silhouette and the symmetry.
Yuanyang Rice Terraces, located on the southern slopes of Ailao Mountain in Yuanyang County (part of Honghe Hani Autonomous Prefecture) and located in the south of Yunnan Province has been a masterpiece of the ingenuity of the Hani people for generations. Southern Ailao Mountain, with this typical tiered landscape, is famed for its unique frontier scenery.
The Hani people's ancestors came to this steep mountain area 2,500 years ago. In their struggle against the difficult terrain they successfully established the terraces, where they grew rice in order to make a living. The technology of developing fertile land on rugged mountain slopes didn't spread all over China and Southeast Asia until 14th century. The creativity of the Hani people turned this mountain area into one of artistic beauty. In recognition, the Ming Dynasty emperor granted the title of 'Skillful Sculptor' to Hani people and their good reputation was passed down from generation to generation. At present, known as 'land sculpture' the terraced fields have been being officially acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
Belimbing, Bali. Some of the most beautiful and dramatic rice terraces in Bali can be found in the village of Belimbing. These are hundreds of years old and are a masterpiece of gravity fed irrigation techniques.
