The Geogian Terrace Hotel is located in downtown Atlanta, Ga. It is part of the historic Fox Theater District. The hotel opened in 1911. When Fox Theater opened up accross the street in 1929, the road in between the hotel and theater was shut down and a red carpet was rolled accross the street from door to door. That is because all the acts stayed here at the hotel. In 1935, editor Harold Latham stayed here on a visit to Atlanta. He was in search of new writes. While there, he heard of a woman named Peggy Mitchel Marsh who had written a book based around the Civil War but she would let nobody read it. After attemps to get it, she finally met him in the lobby here on the day he was to head back to New Orleans. She handed him the book and said it hadn't been revised yet but he can have it if he wants it. That book was called Gone With The Wind. When the movie was made, the premeir was held at Loews Theater down the street. The cast actually stayed here and were in the parade that led from the hotel to the theater.
This street leads off from Sheil Road and is lined by neat terraced houses. This however changes more toward the Farnworth Street end where land has been cleared for modern developments
The Terrace Houses complex in Ephesus consists of luxurious residential villas, located on the northern slope of Bülbüldağı Hill, next to Curetes Street and opposite the Temple of Hadrian.
Vee checking out her handy work. At this point, the portion of the terrace in front of her has been completed. She's sitting close to the next terrace step (you can see the path marked by orange string going past her. By the end of the year, we hope to have our berry bushes and our grapes added to the terraces.....along with some medicinal herbs that require wet shady space.
We returned to the Cabana to explore the basement, warehouse and some of the finer points of the rooms and roof.
The Basement was pitch black, wet and breezy. The Warehouse was less breezy and wet but about as dark. All things considered, it was a good mix of moisture, light and breeze...
The Leer Tower. Formerly known as the Cabana and before that, the Thomas Jefferson Hotel.
Opened to the public in 1929, it has been abandoned since 1982.
The Leer Tower features a moorage mast which was designed to tie down zeppelins and balloons at the time of its completion.
Twenty floors of fun, ballrooms, flooded basements, rooftop views, executive suites, offices, and broken televisions.
The terracing and main stand at Derwent Park, the ramshackle home of Wearside League club Annfield Plain, during a 1-1 draw with Kirkbymoorside. Crowds up to 3,000 were once commonplace here. The attendance for this game was 45.

As a geographer, I was keen to visit the rice terraces which I had learned about in my school days. Unfortunately we had very little time to admire them, as we had to catch the bus in time for the long return journey to Yangshuo. I consider this to be the best landscape photograph taken on the whole trip, as it is conveys depth and is unspoiled by haze.
Lingkhar Lodge, Trashigang, Bhutan. Day 15, Guides Robin/L Dorji. A lovely morning view from our hotel after a night of rain. The terracing reminds me of the Inca terracing in Peru.
The terraces were being readied for the next crop as the rice had just been harvested. Best viewed in large size.
on our way out of ubud we stopped by paddy rice terrace in tegalalang
