During our stay in New Haven we went to New York on one of the weekends, where we took the Metro North to the Grand Central Terminal which is a really beautiful building. Besides some long exposures I also tried other compositions, where this clock caught my eye as it is one of the characteristics of this train station's main hall.
"The Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal is an approximately 23 ha (57 acres) major transportation facility in Delta, British Columbia. It is located at the southwestern end of an approximately 3 km (2 mi) man-made causeway that juts out into the Strait of Georgia off the mainland at Tsawwassen and is less than approximately 500 m (550 yd) from the 49th parallel , the Canada-United States border ."
Picture was taken in the conjunction between terminals. Little post processing with Topaz adjust. Long exposure was required to get all light effects on one picture.
The Illinois Terminal train is crossing Mindale hump, so named because it rises up and over the Ill. Rt 122 and the GM&O line from Bloomington to Jacksonville to Roodhouse line in the middle of the flat land corn fields.
I was so inspired by my mom's idea of seeing a picture in Explore and then hopping in the car to go see the sight for herself - in her case it was to see poppies growing on the hills in Southern California www.flickr.com/photos/75885098@N05/32440176737/in/datepos... - that I wanted to do something similar myself.
I didn't find anything that fit the bill so my mom then suggested I go to Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, a place we both loved when she came to visit. So, George and I hopped in the car and drove there on a day, alas, when the Dutch Eating Place was closed. It's an Amish diner that serves turkey dinners. Their mashed potatoes and gravy are worth an hour drive just on their own. The rest of the market is the icing on the cake. Or the gravy on the potatoes. :-)
After lifting and sitting around and generally blowing the first 9 hours of daylight at my new home in Saginaw, Minnesota I left the driveway briskly after some trace from Welch on DMIR's Proctor MRF (CN L593) coming out of Adolph. The route 33 overhead used as a vantage point here is 2.2 miles from the front door and looked pretty nice being north of a southbound storm that had just passed through bringing thunder but no precipitation (here). Triple tunnels are a real treat.

Fisherman's Terminal is home to much of Seattle's smaller fishing boats. In early spring the terminal is empty as the boats head for Alaska, but this time if year they're all safely in the harbor.
59102 departs from the stone terminal at Chichester, unloading complete. It will then run forward into the truncated headshunt, that used to once lead to the former goods depot adjacent to Chichester station (last used in the late 1980's to load timber following the great storm of October 1987.
It will then propel back on to No.2 reception road (the track next to 59102), where the loco is uncoupled and runs round, prior to a propelling move on to the main line at its departure time of 13:41. The run out of the terminal illustrated was about 12:15pm.
