Lamentations 2:22 “You [LORD] called as in the day of an appointed feast My terrors (dangers) on every side; And there was no one who escaped or survived in the day of the LORD’S anger. Those I have cared for and brought up with tenderness, My enemy annihilated them.”

Aquilegia 'Spring Magic Rose & White'.

This columbine cultivar is perennial that features large, upward facing, fragrant, bright flowers with outward curving spurs.

Flowers grow on a long stem above the leaves and have five pointed pink sepals and five white petals with long spurs projecting backwards between the sepals.

At the centre of the flower are many stamens.

Aquilegia comes from the Latin word for eagle in reference to the flower's five spurs which purportedly resemble an eagle's talon.

THANK YOU for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*)

The soft and tender balance of nature holds many wonders for us to discover…

This little fawn just wanted to show mom a little affection and I was fortunate to be there to capture it.

When watching the rut moments of tenderness seem few and far between. Some months later however all is different and these two were certainly very loved up.

The opportunity to see wild deer at close quarters is an experience that I never tire of.

As always I am grateful to all those who kindly take time to comment on and fave my photographs.

Our birding expedition to Davis Wetlands yielded few feathered friends. However, a delightful surprise awaited us. As we explored the expansive landscape, a cautious deer emerged from the bushes. We held our breath, captivated by the sight of this gentle creature carefully navigating the hillside, her fawn in tow. Witnessing her maternal instincts in action was truly heartwarming.

Created in 1998 as a collaborative effort between the City of Davis and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the 400-acre Davis Wetlands stands as a testament to wetland restoration. This managed ecosystem, comprising freshwater wetlands, oak woodlands, and native grasslands, is a vital habitat for countless species.

Yet another snapshot of my last photo session with my Cyclop. I'm not entirely happy with the original picture, but since I just took a single shot I had to make the best out of it. Anyway, I really like the stalks which seem to be touching each other gently. Hope you like it too!
