had a big convo with my mechanic marcelino about this little plant. he's a mexican meditator and a tree hugger in a literal sense - says they give him energy. anyways, he took positive inspiration from this in that nature is so adaptable & perseverant like people are, but it made me wonder about the randomness of where you end up settling down. this plant obviously doesn't know what a damn bad idea it is to try to grow here... i wonder if i've chosen my ideal place to live.

Over the past two afternoons I have taken advantage of overcast afternoons to create a “plant hospital” in one of my garden beds for all the unfortunates who suffered badly while we were on our trip earlier this month, too far from the reach of our automatic sprinklers though I tried to move them closer.
This cantaloupe vine flower provided me with a glimmer of inspiration, for most of my “patients” are on life support or comatose, and reviving them may be a miracle.
