Over the past two afternoons I have taken advantage of overcast afternoons to create a “plant hospital” in one of my garden beds for all the unfortunates who suffered badly while we were on our trip earlier this month, too far from the reach of our automatic sprinklers though I tried to move them closer.
This cantaloupe vine flower provided me with a glimmer of inspiration, for most of my “patients” are on life support or comatose, and reviving them may be a miracle.

A lesson in tenacity! Poppies are growing and blooming in the pathways of my garden. Not a single one in the garden. Must admire the persisting in existence of these beauties.

This Patea Firefighter stayed in the Sea holding down the fire hose throughout the entire rescue ordeal long into the late night rescue attempt of the stranded female Orca. (which very sadly died in the early hours of the morning out in the Sea, she was later buried after a Blessing in a deep grave along the Coastline).
