We are taking part in this years Skyride Leicester - myself, Son #1 and Daughter #1.
Oh, the irony of the event being sponsored by Sky - the people who attempt to make you sit watching their satellite telly all day.
We cycle from home to Leicester City Centre were a special route has been created by the closure of public roads and the use existing of cycle routes.
So nice to feel something on top for a change.
Taking this shot was much harder than I thought it would be. Especially getting the focus. At the end the bathroom was soaked. I admire all those fantastic sps I see on Flikr even more after this exercise.
Santa Claus wishes all of you a wonderful Tuesday evening! Stay dry
Just shortly before sunrise at Delicate Arch, the first two people to arrive at the arch showed up and stood in just the right spot - on the little rise beyond the arch but framed by the arch. They're so cute and tiny...
Temporary cables are hanging from the pylons of the West Tower before being connected to the pier table. The temporary cables keep the structure stable as the deck is built. The permanent cables are then attached to the new deck.

Wilson Building
1623 Main - 1904; loft conversion - 1999
The historic Wilson Building, opened in 1904 and patterned after Paris' Grand Opera House with Second Empire-style architecture, the landmark structure was considered one of the premier commercial structures west of the Mississippi. The plan of the building is "E" shaped with curved corners. It was designed by Sanguinet & Staats of Fort Worth and was the home of the Titche-Goettinger Department Store until 1926, when they moved to a newer and larger building, two blocks east. For many years, the building was the home of H.L. Green Co. In 1999, Post Properties converted the historic structure into 135 loft apartments, featuring hardwood floors and a rooftop sky terrace.
My office while we renovate the house. Not only can I not wait until we get the office set up, but also I can't wait until I get rid of this tiny little eMac.

Victoria Sq on a walk around Christchurch May 8, 2013 New Zealand.
The Christchurch City Council will be temporarily removing Riki Manuel’s Poupou, the six metre high carved wooden post in Victoria Square, to undertake conservation work to return it to its original glory.
The carving was commissioned in 1994 by the Council in partnership with Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at Akaroa.
The Poupou represents ‘Rangi’ and ‘Papa’ of the Māori legend of the Tīmatatanga (‘beginning’) as well as recognising Māori tribes, their ancestors and all the peoples of Christchurch region.
Now twenty years old, the Poupou was carved out of a totara log one metre in diameter donated by a West Coast farmer. Totara is a timber prized for carving.
The Poupou will be reinstated in Victoria Square once Avon River landscaping works have been carried out.
Its location in Victoria Square places it within the early Waitaha settlement, Puari and also means the work stands in close to and on an equal footing with the pākehā statues of Captain Cook and Queen Victoria, which also celebrate key events in the history of Canterbury.
