This is what a finished loading track looks like. "Straight" and "level" are terms not often associated with these temporary installations laid directly on the peat. The ditch at left is the delineator between adjacent fields.

Courage C26S *(1989) Engine 2800cc Porsche
Race Number 71 Georg Kjallgren
Chassis Number C02-02
This is a difficult one to date as the car has had a number of itinerations. However the race programme states 1989, though its history goes back much further.
C 02-02 was the second Cougar chassis built, of a total eleven, Built by Yves Courage and his Courage Competition outfit, the car was originally powered by a Cosworth DFL V8 engine and entered at the 1984 Le Mans 24 hour with Primagaz sponsorship, driven by Yves Courage, Michel Dubois, and John Jellinek, retiring with oil pump failure on lap 153. Later the same year it went to the USA, rented by Budweiser for IMSA racing in the hands of John Jellinek.
In 1986 it was temporaryly sold in America, modified and renamed JRE-SR71 before its return to France and Courage Competition were it served as a back up car until 1988 by which time it had evolved into a C12.. In which form it ran at the 1988 Le Mans 24 hour again in Primagaz livery, but now in the C2 class driven by Max Cohen Oliver and Patrick de Radriguez, completing the 24 hours it was unclassfified having covered 273 laps after mechanical delays.
C 02-02s returned to Le Mans for the 1989 race now in the guise of a C22LM racing in the C1 class, having been converted with Porsche 2800cc litre engine (Porsche 962), and Porsche transaxle, driven by Patrick Gonin, Bernard Santel and the fabously named Bernard de Dryver, the car retired after 168 laps with electrical failure. The cars final Le Mans outing came in 1991 now as a C26 powered by a Porsche 962 engine in the C2 class to be driven by Chris Hodgetts, Andrew Hepworth, and Thierry Lecerf perilously close to the minimum weight limit and was disqualified from the race at the post qualifying weigh in. For the remainder of 1991 it served as a works back up car for the teams World Sportscar Championship, after which it was purchased by the Le Mans Museum.
It was purchase from there by Mike Jankowski, founder of Creation Autosports. The car was dismantled in 2004 and the Porsche engine totally rebuilt, prior to entry in the Le Mans Legends race prior to the main event. but was withdrawn after the qualifying sessions after problems with the Bosch engine management system. Jankowski then raced the car in group C events alongside his LMP1 drivers, Jamie Campbell-¬‐Walter and Nic Minassian before the car was sold at the end of 2010 to the current owner. Since 2010 it has been a regular in Historic Group C races..
This car raced at Silverstone in the Group C Endurance races

Janny had a temporary handicap placard due to her leg injury, so we were all set to use it on our visit to The Counter and Valley Fair. In both places, though, we were able to find non-handicapped parking super close to the entrance.
I realized something at the mall in particular, though. It seems a bit odd to have handicap spaces really close to the entrance, when the entrances are typically far away from anything. The percentage of walking Janny would have saved if we were only able to find a spot at the farthest end of the parking lot would have been quite small when compared with the amount of walking we did around the mall.

A short blog post about the process
Angie had her spay surgery on Monday. There was no leaping, jumping, flying, rowdiness, racing, or roughhousing for a few days. Kong catch can be played while sitting. :)
Angie is doing great, almost back to normal now. Peggy Sue's appointment is on the 26th.
The 2 foot narrow gauge, Class 91 locomotives, were built by GE in the USA in 1973 and were used on the narrow gauge line from Port Elizabeth to Avontuur until Transnet closed the line a few years ago. Since then, most of the locos have been stored at the Hume Rail depot in Port Elizabeth, although I believe two locomotives may have been scrapped. They are powerful locomotives and it appears that Transnet may be willing to support the Apple Express operation, since at least two locomotives are being restored to working order and are being painted in the latest Transnet livery; see the photographs of 91.013 and 91.018. Reopening the line would be a significant boost to tourism in the Port Elizabeth area.
On my visit to the workshop, I noticed that 91001 is painted in the blue Spoornet livery. I was advised that this locomotive maybe going to the railway museum in George for temporary display.
An Ektar shot of Bonneville. On the rock you can see how high the water was after the rain, and how it has evaporated since.
So the Mac's in the shop.. Had to hack together a temporary system to get some work done. Fedora 14 seems nice so far.
This is only a temporary image as I edited it on photobucket because I no longer have photoshop on my laptop (long story)
anyway photobuckets pretty rubbish to edit pictures in a subtle way but its to give an idea of the sort of look i'm going for.
I'm looking for someone
A miracle to send my life
In the curved air.
I'm a lonely boy
Stepping out
Solitary man.
I don't understand.
Life can be short or long
Tomorrow's another day.
I'm living underground
Like a teddy-boy.
I cross the rainbow
With millions of drivers at the traffic lights
Imprisoned and immobile in their cars;
When the traffic's low
In the city streets
Solitary then I go,
I go through the town.
I don't understand.
Life can be short or long
Tomorrow's another day.
I'm living underground
Like a teddy-boy.

Another vantage point of the contractor's temporary work bridge ramp, which will allow heavy equipment to come into the median, without interrupting traffic on I-85. Next to the bridge are the southbound lanes on I-85 north of Poplar Tent Road.
Class 121 no W55020 of Chiltern Railways unloads in the short platform specially erected for three weekends of Risborough-Chinnor services. 'Ordinary' Chinnor and Princes Risborough services still terminate at Thame Junction, but with a special connection laid in CR's trains are able to pass on to Network rail metals and run into the station.
This platform line leads to the Down-side south sidings, reached via a reversal from the Thame Branch Siding that passes behind the signal box (and which is regularly used to reverse CR trains).

I posted a similar shot a few weeks ago, but this one was intended to commemorate the Labor Day weekend closure of the 80 year old San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. This four day closure involves cutting a soccer field sized section from the bridge and installing a bypass so that construction can be completed on a new span. The new span, not set to open until 2013, is a replacement for the span damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. And don't even get me started on how much this will cost or how long it is taking. Welcome to California.
For the terminally curious, this explains more of the details
Our congregation is using temporary facilities until we are able to build our new church building.. At 11:30 AM some of the congregation greet one another, others pack up equipment while pastors minister in prayer to members.
