Last October, a fire broke out at student flats next to where the Megabus drops off in Bristol. The Colston Street bus stop was unavailable for use and since then Megabus has been using a temporary stop on Bond Street. Many months on, perhaps it's going to become the permanent stop?
In any event, here we see one of their regular London bound services loading up.

Noticed this temporary artwork in the Eskil's park today. It was created by an unknown artist yesterday and it will be history in a day or two.

Got the rack, mudguards, new pedals, new crank set, bars and front light installed.
Got a lovely original Dura Ace crank set (I think from 1973, but in mint condition, the teeth shine like new, love it).
Also changed the moustache handlebar, I'm reserving it for another project, it was just too wide for
a) surfing through the traffic in Barcelona
b) my front door!!
Installed the Tubus Fly rack. Love the rack (got it also on my touring bike), but fitting/bending the adjustment rod was a bit of a nightmare (thanks good I got a Dremel for Christmas).
Also installed a rear brake, in case I want to get a frewheel (in fact, my dream is to ride the Dunwich dynamo singlespeeding on this bike, 200 km, London-to-the-beach, by night, unsupported).
The front light is a new Busch Muller Lumotec IQ Fly Led with a massive 40 Lux (I got the old Led with 16 Lux and think it's simply stunning).
Just missing the rear light and pedal straps.
The previous crankset (Camagnolo Chorus) had a 40 chainring, so I was riding 40x15, the Dura Ace has a 42 chainring, so I'm temporarily keeping the 15, but will eventually change to a more steady 42x16...anyway, with the new bar setup I'm enjoying Barcelona at 42x15!

Cluny Museum - Temporary Exhibition: Glass, an inventive Middle Ages
From September 20, 2017 to January 8, 2018.
The glass is, in the Middle Ages, the object of a real fascination. The exhibition traces ten centuries of an unknown creative abundance.
If they draw their inspiration from Antiquity or Islamic productions, master glassmakers also develop virtuosic techniques, such as Venetians, famous for enamelled goblets or craftsmen in the north of France, who develop the first glasses to rod.
From architecture, where the stained glass testifies to the virtuosity of craftsmen, to the most prestigious tables, glass is a luxury product. Over the centuries, it gradually democratizes in the form of civilian glazing or tavern cups.
But glass is also the precision work of service: urinals enable physicians to diagnose, stills used by apothecaries, mirrors that help reading - just like the glasses, which make their appearance in the late 13 th century .
The exhibition "The Glass, an inventive Middle Ages" features some 230 works with illuminations, paintings and engravings, which help us understand the uses of glass throughout the medieval period.

Service 516 had been on a temporary timetable, due to the closure of Pebble Hill Road at Betchworth, from 8th September 2014. This saw it have to divert via the A24 and double run Headley to/from Box Hill.
Pebble Hill Road re-opened on Friday 23rd January 2015, however Monday 26th January saw the start of a closure of West Street in Dorking, necessitating another temporary timetable. Inbound 516s to Dorking are terminating at The White Horse (rather than continuing to South Street). On departure from Dorking, they are starting at the White Horse, and running via South Street to Townfield Court, where they are serving stop R instead of stop S, then running via Horsham Road, Flint Hill and up the A24 Deepdene Avenue to regain normal line of route. This arrangement is in place all day weekdays, but not Saturdays. The road is closed from 9.15am to 3.30pm on weekdays.
The 465 is also running via Flint Hill and Deepdene Avenue.
Arriva's 32 and Metrobus' 22 and 93 are diverting via Station Road and Ashcombe Road.

These temporary tracks were used for the delivery of the fully-restored Frisco 4500 steam locomotive to a track segment that serves as a permanent exhibit home for the engine. These tracks were removed the following day, 5 June 2011, after the train was delivered. Tulsa, OK
Arborfield Road was closed between Shinfield and Arborfield Cross between Monday 3rd and Sunday 23rd August, for realignment and drainage work.
During this time route 3 was split into two sections, with the main service curtailed at Shinfield, School Green. A separate route 3a operated from Reading non-stop to and from Arborfield Cross then on to Wokingham via the usual route. Transfer tickets were issued for passengers who needed to change buses.
Leopard-liveried Scania 429 is seen at Reading Station on Wednesday 19th August, loading up for a journey over the diversion route to Wokingham; whilst behind it similar but generic-liveried 421 waits to take up a curtailed journey to Shinfield.
After an absence of 62 years, trams are back on the streets of Birmingham, albeit tentatively. The Midlands Metro line has just been extended from Snow Hill station and will soon reach New Street station. The present terminus is Bull Street.

South West Trains services at platforms 20-22. The Waterloo Station & South West upgrade project is taking place between 5 & 28 August 2017 resulting in platforms 1-10 at London Waterloo Station being closed to enable them to be extended resulting in major changes to train services whilst the works are carried out. The former Eurostar platforms 20-24 have temporarily been brought back into use to provide additional capacity during the upgrade.

Severe flooding hits Cambodia
Catastrophic flooding from heavy rainfall has caused widespread devastation across Cambodia. Heavy rains have overfilled dams, causing flash floods, inundating roads and destroying buildings.
National and local authorities, as well as aid agencies including Caritas, are providing immediate relief assistance to affected families who have been evacuated to safe areas.
Over half a million people have been affected by the floods, with huge swathes of the country underwater. A total of 160,000 households have been affected by flooding that has hit 16 of the country’s 24 provinces (including the capital, Phnom Penh).
Caritas Cambodia has provided emergency kits, including 25kg of rice as well as sanitary pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and water containers to about 4,000 families in Kompong Cham, Kratie, Ratanakkiri, Banteay Meanchey and Battambang provinces.

The radiator is all OK. Just needs painting which will be done when the weather gets better.
I am restoring all the cooling system now rather than when the chassis is all nice paint. (A lot of grinding and welding is taking place at the moment)
The long silver pipe is the top hose. The thermostat housing outlet is level with the centre of the chassis so, it is a long way from the engine to the top of the rad. All in all, it is about 8 feet from the heads to the top of the rad.
This pipe is all new as the old one was full of holes. The bronze housing was reused and the new pipe simply brazed in.
The smaller copper tube on the left is the overflow pipe which just drops down to the bottom and out onto the road. This is original and just cleaned up.
