Jaffa, in Hebrew Yafo (Hebrew: יָפוֹ, About this soundYāfō (help·info)) and in Arabic Yafa (Arabic: يَافَا) and also called Japho or Joppa, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, is an ancient port city in Israel. Jaffa is famous for its association with the biblical stories of Jonah, Solomon and Saint Peter as well as the mythological story of Andromeda and Perseus, and later for its oranges. Jaffa is mentioned in an Ancient Egyptian letter from 1440 BCE. The so-called story of the Taking of Joppa glorifies its conquest by Pharaoh Thutmose III, whose general, Djehuty hid Egyptian soldiers in sacks carried by pack animals and sent them camouflaged as tribute into the Canaanite city, where the soldiers emerged and conquered it. The New Testament account of Saint Peter bringing back to life the widow Dorcas (recorded in Acts of the Apostles, 9:36–42, takes place in Jaffa, then called in Greek Ἰόππη (Latinized as Joppa). Acts 10:10–23 relates that, while Peter was in Jaffa, he had a vision of a large sheet filled with "clean" and "unclean" animals being lowered from heaven, together with a message from the Holy Spirit telling him to accompany several messengers to Cornelius in Caesarea Maritima. Peter retells the story of his vision in Acts 11:4–17, explaining how he had come to preach Christianity to the gentiles. Sourse: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa

There's a quote from a show or movie about how telling the past takes more skill than telling the future, but I can't recall it.
For some time I have been telling myself I must get out more with the camera. Primarily work has got in the way, however there is light at the end of the tunnel as in four months time I will be working three days a week. Getting lineside like this might just be one of the ways I will spend my additional free time.
This shot shows a Tyesley to York Christmas special making good progress on a dingy December morning as it passes nearby Badsworth.
This Fer De Lance aka Lance headed viper aka Terciopelo aka Bothrops Asper was seen on a night hike at La Tarde in Costa Rica. It was spotted by my guide Eduardo. Eduardo had been recommended to me by multiple people in the past and he was even featured in some Costa Rican nature documentary I watched so I was really hoping to get him as a guide. However, when I made arrangements to do a night tour I was told someone else would be my guide. Unfortunately I ran into some issues leaving on time to drive to La Tarde that night due to a kayak tour to see bioluminesce taking too long. I made the 1 hour drive in probably record time but when I got there I was greeted by a guy who I thought was Eduardo telling me that the guide had already gone home. I essentially begged Eduardo to take me on a tour. He was reluctant because he didn't speak much English but I told him it didn't matter to me and he agreed to take me on a hike. It turns out when a guide only speaks a foreign language but you have a shared understanding of reptile and amphibian names that it really cuts down on a lot of unnecessary chit chat and information I get tired of hearing over and over again from other guides. Instead it was a wonderful walk in the jungle with a guy who had worked there for decades and new the habitat like the back of his hand. We could communicate fine with what was important and amazingly despite rather poor conditions and a very late start we still managed to turn up 5 snake species, multiple lizards and multiple types of frogs. And several of the snake species were high on my wishlist to see that trip. Amazingly despite night hiking almost every night this was the only Fer De Lance I saw on this trip to Costa Rica. It was the dry season and they like it wetter. These are my least favorite snakes of Central America because of their ability to blend in incredibly well to the forest and because they can be quite territorial not to mention highly venomous. So although I was glad to see this big nicely patterned adult individual, I didn't mind it being the only one seen on this trip.
I already shared the Masurana seen on this night hike which was the most exciting reptile find of the trip. I also already shared the blunt-headed tree snake we saw but will be sharing more from this night hike at La Tarde soon.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more. Morpheus to Neo, the Matrix.
I keep telling myself that, 'One of these days, I'm going to learn an an image editing software and clone out all the vehicles and power lines. Probably happen the day after I clean out my garage.
Telling a story in a photograph is often one of the hardest things to do. Creating an image that lets the viewer come up with their own story is what I aim for. On this evening in the Roan Highlands, the Milky Way rises over the trees as a roaring campfire on top of Round Bald lights up the trees. It was so nice to be out under the stars again.
This was taken in Eastern Market. Many purveyors conversed with customers. This man was particularly animated and held this woman's attention. She seemed to enjoy his story.

The Wilderness Resort in Finnish Lapland.
Our primary reason for coming to Lapland was to see the divine Northern Lights. We Aurora camped, we Aurora hunted, we had Aurora apps and an Aurora alert buzzer... We had our winter fashionables--wooly gloves and hats, hand and foot warmers, twenty pairs of long johns (at least it felt like twenty pair), fleece, balaclavas (or baklava to some 😄!), and Frankenstein boots.
Finally, after several days of Aurora keeping to herself, she made a bashful showing on our third night! The reception we gave her must have emboldened her, because the next night she began to show off! It was such an incredible experience, made all the more fun being in a large group of people, all with the same dedicated purpose, and all absolutely enthralled by a natural phenomenon. No Rhianna, no gimmicks, no influencer telling us how great this is--just pure, intense awe and joy at seeing something so magical, so wondrous, so natural, happening on the world's biggest stage.
There were cheers and squeals, hoots and laughter, silence and stillness. We were all suddenly children again, and no translators needed. Reverence is a universal language, a human experience connecting everyone out on that bitter cold night.
Well done, Aurora! We can't wait for you to return and dazzle us once again!
The penultimate sunset at Concordia research station in Antarctica marks the beginning of a very exciting time for the 12-member crew: the coming of Antarctic night and the winter-over.
ESA sponsored medical doctor Hannes Hagson and his crew mates are finally embarking on their ‘real’ mission in Antarctica: living and work in isolation for six months in the name of spaceflight research.
The Italian-French outpost Concordia is located 3233 m above sea level where temperatures can drop to –80°C in the complete frozen darkness outside. The sun disappears behind the horizon for four months. No supplies or people can be flown in during the winter months; and the high altitude causes the crew to experience chronic hypobaric hypoxia or lack of oxygen in the brain.
These conditions are as close to living on another planet as humans can get on Earth.
For this reason, Hannes is facilitating biomedical experiments on himself and his crewmates to understand how humans cope with living in extreme isolation. From sleep studies to gut health measurements to mindful practices, the crew are poked and prodded to help researchers understand and overcome the challenges extreme environments, like space, pose to present and future explorers.
This image was taken by Hannes on 3 May. The last full sunset took place the day after but appeared only as a thin sliver in the sky.
Follow Hannes during his winter-over on the Chronicles from Concordia blog.

Glamis Castle is perhaps the most beautiful and well-preserved castle in Scotland. It is located in northern of Edinburgh and near the small village of Glamis.
This castle was begun in the fifteenth century and in the following centuries received several and constant changes and in the eighteenth century ended in its current appearance.
I'm not very fond of telling the whole story at all, since in Google is all explained and with full details.
I refer to what I saw and heard as I was going on a guided group.
The building belongs to a British noble family who still live there. Wings are dedicated to tourism and the other is his habitual residence.
It is full of ghosts, devils, secret rooms, sandwiched people, mysterious windows, ghosts and devils constantly playing poker.
What is certain is that was the habitual residence of the Queen Mother and one of its rooms was born Princess Margaret, sister of the present Queen Elisabeth.
Shakespeare also placed his work in theater Macbeth in the castle and a lounge called Duncan's Hall, was murdered King Duncan. Realy, none of this is true, nor the location neither the murder.
The truth is that all these stories of ghosts and demonic apparitions are explained very seriously and you do not know how to stay. The only certainty is that the castle is wonderful, is very well preserved and that the visit is very enjoyable.
Not to tire, only a mysterious detail I checked personally. On one side of the castle, there are five windows outside. When I count inside, I only found four. Nobody knows where the fifth window belongs.
Please enlarge the picture if you like to see detais.

"Telling the story about how he makes the best wine .... about picking the grapes.... stepping on them ..... mushing them all up and squeezing out the best of them..... to get a great drink. Why they want to drink it I don't know.... who knows where those feet have been before they stomped the grapes!"
"Anyway.. that's the story behind the photo Radcliffe.. aren't you glad I made you take off your sunglasses so you could see the page? ...""

I had a chance to watch a debate on "Bottle Feeding vs BreastFeeding". It was interesting that both sides pointed out the advantages.
I heard many good things that breastfeeding benefits to both Mother and Baby.
I can remember my Mother and My Wife said "I breastfed and I'm proud of it"
I'm happy to be a part of the story.
