I Came To Tell You That I'm Going Away
I came to tell you that I'm going away
And your tears can't do anything about it
As said well by Verlaine 'on an ill wind'
I came to tell you that I'm going away
You remember the old days and you cry
You suffocate, you turn pale now the time's come
Farewell forever
Yeah I'm in regret
For telling you I'm going away
Yes I loved you, yes but
I came to tell you that I'm going away
Your sobs can't do anything about it
As said well by Verlaine 'on an ill wind'
I came to tell you that I'm going away
You remember the old days and you cry
You suffocate, you turn pale now the time's come
Farewell forever
Yeah I'm in regret
For telling you I'm going away
As you've been with me through everything
I came to tell you that I'm going away
And your tears can't do anything about it

Great Spotted Woodpeckers.
The youngster is not one of this females chicks and she determinedly chased it away from the feeders.
They're very territorial and even a House Sparrow who dared to venture into the cage lost a few feathers.
I was wandering around one day in the Empress Chambers sim, which is gorgeous and very worth visiting, and happened to meet the owner/creator of the sim and had a nice and interesting conversation with her. I cammed in on her from afar as she very graciously told me her story and took just two pictures of her but I thought they came out very well for no set up. It was just a spontaneous few snaps that I didn't even really intend to take but it was such a gorgeous environment and I thought the picture just had a certain something I liked. She could not have been any nicer and welcomed me to take pictures there anytime.
The inscription over the entrance to one of the Etruscan tombs at the Necropolis del Crocifisso del Tufo (my husband was pointing as he was reading it to me - yeah, he can read Etruscan).
The necropolis is situated below the town of Orvieto (which sadly we did not have time to visit), made by tufa rocks and in use mainly from the middle of the 6th century B.C. and then some hundred years (though the area actually was in use in total from the 8th to the 3rd centuries B.C). There are some 70 family tombs, built almost like small houses, with an entrance and straight walls and a door-opening (and inscriptions over the doors, telling who is buried where).
This shot was taken of a passing London Bus in Oxford Street, London.
Thanks for visiting.
All the best.....

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I like telling stories through my decor images. I like to think of an old woman, thinking to her beloved who has passed, and all her keepsakes of that person in a box. Letters and dried flowers and pictures...

I have an abundance of squirrels out my windows, probably because I have bird feeders there. These guys are free entertainment all day long. I have never before seen them interact like this - the one appeared to be grooming the other, or just giving a secret suggestion on how to get the seeds out of that feeder!

Yes, I love the messiness of the lighting but it sure makes it tough to edit. I keep telling myself to stop shooting into the light but it creates a glowy magic that I adore. What rules do you break?

In these lonely nights she's glad your by her side. It was you that she could open up fully and tell her dark secrets, the deep pain, and the nothingness that consumed her soul. She knew there was no judging as her words escaped her lips. In these dark times she was glad she had a friend like you who she fully trusted.
I went along the beach of "the dune" on the island of Helgoland together with two good friends - looking for newborn great grey seals - and we had good weather and a lot of fun - just missing my heart when I saw this sea dweller in the tidal watershed... when you bring it to your ear you can listen to her tales of the deep water magic... :=)))

A 2021 project. Selected collage creations used to make models for bookmarks reconverted. The strips mean to tell stories. Vertically, any which-way; and horizontally from left to right. Or haphazardly.
It's up to the viewer to tell her/his version of the story.

The skies were grey and the property was covered in a blanket of fog. I ran around the property taking photographs until my camera needed a break from the never ending rain. I felt as if I had stumbled upon a secret world that would only last for a certain amount of time.
(No extra fog was added - all in camera)
RKO_3744. How wonderful to meet with this young lion cub, obviously waiting for its mother to return. The curious cub looked straight towards me allowing for a wonderful portrait shot.
Somehow the image tells me it's looking at the television screen in front of him watching a movie and looking at some strange animals carrying metal tubes......😏

The sun sets on Mackay Hall in Parkville, Missouri.
As I was driving home, I texted my wife telling her I was going out to shoot the sunset tonight. I grabbed my camera and headed out towards Parkville with the hopes of photographing the Missouri River with some great cloud action. They were working on a path for where I wanted to go so I detoured towards my alma mater.

There is something particularly satisfactory in the fact of posting this picture. And it's a satisfaction that, I am sure, people living in this area will understand very well … Every year in the end of Fall, lakeside is covered by a sea of fog that remain unmoved for month. During the last two weeks, people living above it had perfect clear weather and warm sunny days while people living under it were experiencing the despairing boring constancy of gray light. Most of the time, people living by the lakeside (who don't climb the mountains really often) just don't realize that there's only a few dozen of meters between their depressing weather and the heaven above. And it's probably a good thing for them : knowing it would just make it harder …
Now imagine my situation : I live above the sea of fog, but I work under it (and I'd rather say INSIDE it) ! So now that the days are really short, I leave home late enough to be sure that the day is going to be perfect, but too soon to enjoy even the beginning of it. All day long I think about people above who are enjoying it (recently, my mother-in-law called: she was hesitating between spending her afternoon biking or roller skating). And when I come back home the sun is already down, and the last colors of the cloud are just telling me : “yes, you miss some very nice pictures ...”. And this every morning for the last two weeks. Of course, there's terribly worst situations. But I am sure you will agree : how frustrating it is!!
So yesterday, I decided to take half an hour before going to work to enjoy the sunrise just above the sea of fog, and here is the result. I am sure you'll understand that it is a kind of revenge ;) !

The Mexican Free-Tail Bats, that is. There are 1.5 million bats living under that bridge and they come out every evening after sunset. This is the trip I've been telling you about. I planned this trip for over a month. I check the cycles of the moon to make sure there would be a full moon rising, as the bat fly to the east when they come out. Well, everything was perfect, The moon came up right on time with very few clouds. I had a great lens, my batteries were charged and I was with my friend on a rented boat. The only problem was, unbeknownst to me, the bats have just had there young..So, they don't want to fly too far away and with all the rain we've had, there are plenty of bugs right there under the bridge.Oh well, I made the best of it. I got some great moon shots and skyline images, plus I was with friends and it was only 10 bucks each. I plan to do it again around the end of July or mid August. I just have to check the moon schedules again. I know there will be a full moon the end of July, but what's important is what time the moon comes up
