This is," Tee Pee Springs" in the Blue Mountains of Washington / Oregon. As you can see it is a food grade stainless steel trough 2' X 4' by 4' deep ... It was in disrepair and overgrown with vegetation and runoff... It hadn't been maintained for several years... Most springs in the Blue Mountains are fed by spring boxes that were installed during the Civilian Conservation Program (CCCDays) but they haven't seen to many modern updates... Last season I broke by leg ( " A Dynamite Trail Story") and could not ride my horse... so my wife and I took it upon ourselves to make several trips to Tee Pee Springs and get this spring repaired and flowing on a permanent basis... We spent several days clearing brush and landscaping the washouts so that thirsty critters could once again experience cool clean clear spring water... My Wife, family and friends have maintained the spring s at Tee Pee, Panjab, and Clover Springs... Clover springs is in need of repairs to it is time to pack up the horses and fix the problems... In this image it looks like there is vegetation growing in the water... It is actually just a beautiful reflection... The tank and water are sqeeky clean... The big bruin in in my images from last see had been visiting this spring and left his calling card so I could record just how big he really was... He had also been bedding here... Wolves, Cougars, Black Bears and Cinnamon Brown bears and one of the biggest Elk reserves in the state frequent these springs...
Swiss TEE unit on the Ticino at Göschenen (north end of Gotthard Tunnel). The TEE Ticino was discontinued in 1974 so this image is probably from 1966-74 as it shows a 6-car unit (the original 5-car sets were lengthened in 1966).
Great training outing with on this peak. Mixed conditions: 5600' vertical, snow, ice, rock, scrambling, easy 5th, good weather, good friend.

An out-take from a cover shoot I did with this fine young lady. I had the idea but she beat me to it. By the way NO hands involved holding the ball & tee in place! What a lucky ball and tee.

Assignment: PCA03 - Isolated Subject for the Photography Critique Assignments Group
Show us an isolated subject. Razor sharp focus on the subject, and completely blurred to annihilation backgrounds. This can be accomplished by using a wide aperture and having a distant background. If using a less sophisticated camera, try using the portrait mode or macro mode. If you cannot get the background out of focus, then choose a featureless background.
My image:
After seeing Kascam's example, I thought it looked a bit like a golf ball and so this inspired me to go and take this shot. I wanted it to be authentic so I went to my local golf course and asked permission to take this shot on the first tee. They were really cool about it. It looked a bit strange with me lying flat on the grass behind the ball with a big long lens on my camera!
It was shot using a Canon 400D camera with a Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens. Aperture = f / 4.5 and shutter speed 1/640. I didn't do very much photoshop work. A slight crop off the top, a subtle increase in contrast and a slight boost of colours. I also did a little noise reduction.
