Na de laatste officiële TEE-rit op 25 mei 1974 organiseerde de NVBS op 3 juli 1974 een afscheidsrit met een dubbel stel door Nederland en België. Bij het laatste licht passeert de extratrein Barendrecht.

Het bekende treinstel verzorgt de dienst van TEE 91 'Edelweiss' van Amsterdam naar Zürich via Roosendaal-Brussel-Luxemburg-Metz-Straatsburg-Mulhouse-Basel SBB. De complete dagreis duurde ongeveer 9 uur; aankomst in Zürich HB was om 19.49.
Op 28 mei 1974 werd de treindienst beëindigd.

... und heute scheint sogar die Sonne vom strahlend blauen Himmel und die Vögel zwitschern als gäbe es kein Morgen. Ich war mit meinem Mann in seiner Mittagspause essen und danach sind wir noch ein Weilchen im Schlosspark in der Sonne gesessen :-)
Zuhause gönne ich mir jetzt noch einen leckeren Kuchen und einen Tee ....... hach, manchmal ist das Leben einfach schön :-)

Die Teepfückerin hat heute einen Grund sich zu freuen. Sie muss nicht arbeiten weil Feiertag ist.
Das Deepavali Fest in Geen View Village hat für die Tamilen hier in Sri Lanka eine besondere Bedeutung. Das Festival wird von Beleuchtung markiert, deshalb leuchten die Hindus mit Öllampen und erhalten Segnungen des Lakshmi.
Traditioneel rijden er bij de start van de voorjaars-/krokusvakantie extra vakantietreinen voor de vele wintersporters. De dienstregeling voor het wintersportseizoen 2011 telde maar liefst zes van die eenmalig ingelegde treinen, naast de twee treinen die dat jaar gedurende het hele seizoen reden.
Onder de extra treinen was de gecombineerde TEE-/Krokus Express dat jaar de meest bijzondere. Allereerst omdat de trein voor een deel uit ex-TEE-rijtuigen bestond. Daarnaast omdat vanaf Emmerich de tractie door een bijpassende locomotief van de fraaie serie 103 werd verzorgd.
De foto toont de trein vlak na vertrek vanuit Emmerich. Direct achter de locomotief bevonden zich de zeven TEE-rijtuigen voor Chur. Het tweede deel (op de foto niet zichtbaar) van de trein bestond uit de negen rijtuigen tellende Krokus Express naar Ötztal.

De 1103 met TEE 7 Rheingold van Hoek van Holland naar Genève en Milaan bij Woerden op 25 mei 1979. In Utrecht CS, midden in de spits!, zouden de rijtuigen uit Amsterdam CS (naar Chur en Genève) worden aangekoppeld. Het gedeelte Hoek van Holland-Utrecht CS reed een dag later voor het laatst.
De volkstuintjes hebben plaatsgemaakt voor extra sporen en de fly-over voor treinen uit de richting Bodegraven.
Plan V's in de stopdienst naar Rotterdam en Den Haag (rechts op de foto) zijn afgelost door SLT's.

Another divert on The Marches on a Sunday, and an usual one, steel trains on this line are usually heading for the Tata steel works at Shotton, and are covered wagons. However this is 6E47, from Margam heading for Tees Yard with steel coil on open wagons, and seen passing All Stretton at 16.05pm, or tea time if you like...

De bekende TEE heeft station Rotterdam Lombardijen net gepasseerd aan het begin van de route via Brussel-Luxemburg-Basel naar eindstation Zürich.
66174 heads towards the camera after leaving its train in the sidings at Tees Yard.

The golf course is closed as they do a few weeks of maintenance which opens up the daily walk options. Week by week new discoveries as I explore with my cameras. Plenty of wide open and safe options. I’ve only left the neighborhood once to pick up prescriptions and that’s okay. Just waiting for science to lead the way!
