Sometimes referred to as Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge and even as 'The Tranny'!
This impressive structure has featured numerous times in films and on TV including Boys from the Blackstuff, Billy Elliot, The Fast Show and Spender.
One of my personal favourites was when it featured in the storyline of the third series of 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'. The plot saw the bridge dismantled and subsequently sold to and re-erected in the USA. I can confirm that the bridge is still in situ across the Tees.
My son (11yrs old) took this shot of me at the range yesterday. I have been teaching him for about 3 years now. Obviously not the best technique for a golf swing, but I got the ball off the tee consistently around 180 yards in the air. Whatever works... :-)
I used Photomatix Pro 4 beta to tonemap this image and LR3 & PS CS4 for processing it. This shot was created from a single image.

Asphalt-slaves......there is (nearly) nothing manipulated. The colours are real. I just had to shift and tilt the scan a little bit and I corrected the depth of field .....
I never saw this kind of light again (a rainy day with a few seconds of sunlight) One of these days you feel like a mixture of christmas and childrens birthday.......
I posted a few other pics of this session. They are also tagged with "teer" and "asphalt"
“As time goes on, you’ll understand. What lasts, lasts; what doesn’t, doesn’t. Time solves most things. And what time can’t solve, you have to solve yourself. Is that too much to ask?”

Opened in 1911, the transporter bridge is made of steel and concrete. It carries cars across the river in a gondola suspended from the bridge in 90 seconds. It is currently closed for engineering works, so although we were able to see the bridge, we weren't able to travel across the river on it.
A TP&W freight train is holding at La Hogue, Illinois just west of Gilman on December 28th, 2021. Train had TP&W 1538-5010-2070-5008-1539-MQT 3407 and probably the longest train I've ever seen on this line. Luckily, there was a road along the side of the train which allowed me to get at least a shitty day roster shot of each.
