My mom used Google street view to find the house in Brooklyn where my grandfather grew up. We also got to hear some stories about local mafia and see the window he used to climb out of when he was grounded. Best part of the evening, hands down.

On September 21, USIP celebrated the International Day of Peace by challenging individuals, organizations, schools and communities across the U.S. and around the world to take action to mark the day and further peace in their own lives through the #PeaceDayChallenge (www.peacedaychallenge.org). Because we know youth play a critical role in this work, we asked a group of active young peacebuilders to share through photography and video about their work for peace: what motivates them, what actions they are taking, and why they believe it’s important for youth to work together to effect change locally and globally. Join these young peacebuilders – take the #PeaceDayChallenge and make a difference in our communities and world!

The most modern one among my analog cameras. Digital photography is fun, really, the options one has are just amazing. But, still, it ain't comparable to the smell and feeling you experience in an actual darkroom.
(Note: I published this picture a long time ago on another platform called fotocommunity. Since I'm no longer active in that community, I migrated this picture, among others, to flickr.)
This is the original Ziess Planetarium Projector that was replaced by the new state-of-the-art model when the Observatory re-opened.
It is around 8 feet tall, probably weighs several thousand pounds, and is an absolutely amazing piece of machinery. Excuse my indulgence in a 5-shot series of the contraption, but I was in awe of it.
