We headed to the Big Apple for a Tech Cocktail mixer & startup showcase. At New York City’s Center for Social Innovation, the latest and greatest batch of startups innovating out of New York had an opportunity to hop on stage and pitch their ideas before an excited and energetic crowd.
Startups that showcased: Circumrent, CommonKey, LookBooker, LumiFi, picsell, Rockerbox, SketchFactor, SocialRank.

As a part of Surgical Tech Week, SCC Surgical Tech students participated in an outdoor demonstration on the beautiful campus green to learn the proper way to dress and undress for surgery.
Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council provided a program to examine how to capture the passion of an organization's people, and channel that energy in matters of advocacy. In particular, this program provided better understanding as to why nonprofits need to consider advocacy and the many forms it takes. Speakers included Alisa Costa, Advocacy and Public Relations Professional, Gerald J. Jennings, Partner, Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP, Ross Levi, former Executive Director of Empire State Pride Agenda.
