June 2017

some weeks ago we were at Hockenheim Historic 2016 www.hockenheim-historic.de

For this scene I have played with the brightness and saturation of the background to give it a bit of a modern and historic flair ;-)

I'm curious about your comments.

funktioniert blendend bei den Haubentauchern!

This evening I was able to take candid photos of a group having Happy Hour / Trivia Night as part of a team building exercise. A fun event.

Liked the results here of using the gelled CTO warm bounce flash to help add some details to what was a very dark venue there in then bar ... but capturing the moment at high ISO also really allows the full light and various source of light to be scene in the setting. Bouncing the light also keeps all the nice shadows and depth to the scene as well.

One of the teams here was working on coming up to an answer for a question.

A jay carrying acorns to its cache. These birds can carry as many as 5000 of these fruits in a year. They remember where they put most of then but not all, which helps the oak tree to colonise new territory.

In the waining hours, in the last light of the day, I finally took Toby out for a game of fetch.

I throw it, he brings it back - a nightly ritual that never seems to grow old.

Temps were still in the 80s but I couldn't let National Dog Day pass without celebrating in the only way the pup knows.

In the background , Henry snuffles amongst the plants, celebrating the day in his own special way.

Our Daily Challenge 8/23 - "Walls"

Our humble retraining wall. It came with the house. Not much to look at, but it does the job and so long as it continues to do so there is little chance of our replacing it.

With some down time on the Death Star these wee troopers work together solving this dual ball Labyrinth puzzle.

I was reading a book in the sunroom when I heard a ruckus in a bush outside the window, so I went outside to investigate. As it turned out, a pair of Carolina wrens were busy moving into an old birdhouse that was resting against our house. I immediately grabbed the camera and a lawn chair, and watched as the pair worked together to bring assorted nesting materials to their new home. I watched them for nearly an hour until clouds began to roll in. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

The rain stopped and the Rainbows came out .. in wonderful cheerful numbers!

Least Terns work together to raise their chicks. While one parent is out hunting for fish, the other keeps the chicks warm and safe. This moment captures the exchange between parents as one comes back with fish to feed the chicks.

Very early morning at the seaside of Hoi An. With the first sunlight everybody helps pulling the fishing net out of the sea.

There is no 'I' in team, but there is 'I' in cookies.
