I still have a few special teacups that hold sentimental value for me. Collecting and exchanging teacups for special occasions such as weddings was a popular tradition. Of all my teacups, I bought one for myself, while the others were thoughtful gifts from special people.

I remember in my childhood days, granny's place had one of these small enamel basins in which drinking teacups were placed with a mixture of tea and hot water - such teacups to be picked up and used by the next thirsty person after rinsing in that basin of water - at that time, we had little awareness of germs and what-nots!

Trying my hand at teacup photography. This isn't the best shot of the day, but I can't decide which edit of the best one I prefer so that one will come later :)

Another surprising find in a Northern Maine anitque shop yesterday. I couldn't make it to Brimfield so I had to settle for Northern Maine. This is the first teacup I have found. The image looks like it may have been made from a daguerreotype.

I was doing a bit of studio* photography yesterday, getting some publicity photos for Linda's new range of tableware. This is the pale blue cup and saucer, using Linda's glaze recipies on a stoneware body, and manufactured by a very nice factory in Surrey.

I love how this Hipstamatic photo looks almost impressionist with its blur, and how the colors are so strong.

For my wedding I gave all my guests handmade Teacup candles. So I made over 170 of them. I feel very confidant in making candles now.

This photo is not safe for a global audience. It glorifies the consumption of heated caffeinated beverages. By use of soft focus combined with sensuously sleek curves it risks causing desirous impulses for the viewer.

In reality, caffeine is a highly addictive substance that can lead to a life long dependency.

Its dangerous for being a hot liquid. One that is readily available for a small price in many parts of the world. In some places, it is even available twenty-four hours a day, every day of the week. Yet a single cup, mishandled by carelessness or malicious intent, can cause painful burns to one or several people at a time. If the terrorists ever figure that out, God help us all.

(this, at last, concludes the 'safe a global audience' series)

Notes to +/- pro:

Please ignore its context within the safe global audience rant of mine.

So many benches, so little time. It was so cute, everytime we saw a bench, she would say: "mommy, look we should take pictures with that bench". I had to explain about Bench Monday to my family, since they were all wondering why she had a bench obsession :)

And here is the bottom of the mountain. The handles are covered wtih rocks and flowers too.
