This displaced duck must be totally confused. How did I get here!?!

The original photo of the duck was taken on the riverfront. The Photofox Teacup component was used to create this image.

Taken for Macro Mondays: Monochrome.

What to photograph this week???? I recently brought this tea set over from Scotland to Munich, it has been handed down in our family for a number of generations and now I am the custodian. To me, it seems too beautiful to use but also too beautiful to keep in a cupboard. Photographing it today made me think about all the ladies that have used it for tea and cake and I wonder if the owner at the time thought, should I bring out the good china?

HMM!

My lens was fogging up, big time! I guess it was about to rain or something.

Once again, I don't feel like taking pictures of myself.

Have a great Monday, lol.

a busy weekend helping out at bake-a-boo.

my friend who i haven't seen for ages, came to visit yesterday. as we haven't seen each other for such a long time, there was a lot to catch up on. we were chatting for so long, we forgot to drink the tea...i didn't want to waste it, so decided to take a pic! :-D

PADDY: “Oh welcome, welcome Oleg, mijn beste vriend!”

OLEG: “Oh thank you, Paddy, mijn beste vriend!”

PADDY: “Please come and sit down and help me christen my new tea set from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear!"

OLEG: "Oh how wonderful Paddy! Thank you so much, and thank you Daddy!"

PADDY: "I’m so glad that you are here, Oleg!”

OLEG: “Oh I am too Paddy! It’s so lovely, sunny and warm here: just perfect to take away the ache from my muscles after I fell off my bicycle."

PADDY: “Well, tea is the best remedy for any ache, mijn beste vriend, so please do allow me to pour you a cup."

OLEG: "Oh thank you mijn allerbeste vriend!"

PADDY: "It is just as well you didn’t come yesterday, it was so hot! It was 38 degrees Celsius, and we all played inside with the air conditioning on! But today the weather is perfect, just for you!”

OLEG: “And I have your love to help me feel better as well, mijn beste vriend.”

PADDY: “Well, you always have that, dear Oleg. I thought that since it is lovely and warm, we might take tea out on the terrace where we can enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful garden setting.”

OLEG: “Oh how splendid, Paddy!”

PADDY: “Now, Daddy has put the kettle on and has also brought us some very special homemade Christmas fruit mince pies and butter shortbread biscuits, and I have picked some roses to decorate the table with. I think we are ready for a cup of Twinings English Breakfast tea and a lovely chat. What do you think, mijn allerbeste vriend?”

OLEG: “I agree, and I couldn’t be happier to be here!”

PADDY: “Well, I'm very happy to have you here, mijn allerbeste vriend Oleg.”

My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558...) and their Mummy Marian Kloon (on and off). Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Paddy and Oleg are very similar and have become best friends too. Paddy decided to invite Oleg to Melbourne where it is lovely and warm, to share his wonderful new tea set from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear.

This beautiful children's tea set featuring transfer pictures of bouquets of flowers and idyllic English countryside scenes has been made by Woods Ivory Ware in the United Kingdom and dates from the1930s.

My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.

He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.

Thank you Marian Kloon (on and off) for the use of Oleg's image in my photo montage.

Looking close ... on Friday contribution "Three"

Trying out some new compositional techniques.

At my house. This year the Cardinals seem extra bright red.

It's just a cup of troubles,

Nothing too big.

You could drink it on down,

In a single swig.

But If you let them sit,

Then they'll all build up,

And soon you'll be drowning,

In your little teacup.

I tried for awhile today to get a shot of steam rising from this little tea cup, but didn't succeed - had to resort to some PSE trickery - will have to have another go at it after I see what other lights I have hanging around the house.

Taken for:

Prompt Addicts - What's in you Cup?

Slider's Sunday 2/3/13 - not too much of a slide this week, just a bit of trickery - HSS!

On a walk around Mona Vale gardens in Christchurch September 4, 2015 on a very cold windy day with Flying another Flickr friend.

Mona Vale, with its homestead formerly known as Karewa, is a public park of 4 ha in the Christchurch suburb of Fendalton. The homestead and gate house are both listed as heritage buildings with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (NZHPT). The fernery and the rose garden, and pavilion with the setting of the park along the Avon River, add to the attractiveness of the property. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Christchurch.
