I guess this is a preliminary painting for The Enchanted Planet (DAW 1975)

Sunny and some of my Tanith Lee novels. She takes up about 3 shelves and has been my favorite author since I was 15.

My friends Sinthia, Tanith, & I were out wandering around shopping last night, and we ended up at the Paradisis mainstore. They had a lot of neat stuff, but up on the third floor was a bunch of really great futuristic catsuits and armor suits. I decided to pick up the Green hologram suit to see what kind of outfit I could put together with it.

My first stop for accessories was the Cyberbunker to see what neat Sci-Fi accessories they had. I ended up grabbing the Oralune Jetpack and Armor set in black. I had the older version of the jetpack by itself, but in the pack it was cheaper to by the new version with the armor parts then to buy them all in pieces. =)

Since any good space explorer needs some protection, I headed to Fairlight Industries. I knew that they had some guns from when I have been there shopping for boots, eyes, and wings. I took a peek at what they had and bought the flash rifle. the details and bullets can be changed to Red, Green, or Blue and I always like colorchange stuff so it can fit more than one outfit.

Ghosts of Central New York -- "New York s heartland is rife with ghosts and tales of hauntings. Spirits skulk about burial grounds, supernatural strains of piano music resound and some specters strike out in a bowling hall. Such are the haunted happenings in the central region of New York State. Populated with phantoms of those who helped shape the landscape, Cooperstown, Herkimer, Oriskany, Rome and Syracuse are a few of the places where influential and heroic spirits still reside. Experience an unearthly journey through eerie forts, spirited inns and possessed museums. Uncover the buried secrets of battlefields and B & Bs. Bear witness to long-gone eras by visiting with the Ghosts of Central New York." -- from www.amazon.com

I'm always interested to hear about new haunted historical sites, especially if they're close to where I live. But frankly, this book felt like an incomplete history report written by a ten year old. Misspellings, run-on sentences, and bad grammar abounded. Most of the stories were riddled with random facts that were never followed up on and/or the stories ended abruptly without really finishing what had been started. It read like someone started writing down an episode of "Ghost Hunters" and then got bored in the middle and just scribbled a random ending.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wizards -- "In Wizards, today's master fantasists turn their hands to tales of these magical beings, living in both ancient and modern times, as well as in fantasy realms that never were.

Featuring stories by New York Times bestselling authors Neil Gaiman, Eoin Colfer and Garth Nix as well as tales from Kage Baker, Peter S. Beagle, Terry Bisson, Orson Scott Card, Terry Dowling, Andy Duncan, Jeffrey Ford, Elizabeth Hand, Nancy Kress, Tanith Lee, Patricia A. McKillip, Mary Rosenblum, Tad Williams, Gene Wolfe, and Jane Yolen." -- from www.amazon.com

A good book...there were some really great stories in the book -- especially Orson Scott Card's story -- and there were some not so good ones. Nothing really terrible, just a few stories that felt incomplete or were just plain boring.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ash -- "Deep in the countryside, ghost hunter David Ash is investigating a mysterious, secluded stately home. Reports from locals regarding strange goings-on make him think the house is haunted... But not even David Ash's long professional history of warding off evil spirits can prepare him for the shocking discovery that awaits." -- from www.amazon.com

I really liked this book...it was an interesting story and I liked the main characters. There were a few times when it felt a little rushed -- a plotline would pick up only to be wrapped up quickly a few pages later and never mentioned again -- which was a bit disatisflying. There were a few great creepy scenes including one with some very horrifying spiders. All in all, I liked it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lost Years -- "Just weeks after discovering a letter that may have been written by Jesus Christ himself, biblical scholar Jonathan Lyons is found shot to death in his study. Police suspect his wife, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, murdered him in a jealous rage. But the priceless parchment is missing, and Jonathan had recently confided to a family friend his suspicions that someone he once trusted had designs on the ancient document. It is up to his daughter, Mariah, to clear her mother of murder charges and unravel the real mystery behind her father’s death—before her own revelations become her last." -- from www.barnesandnoble.com

A decent murder mystery...it was less about the parchment than I thought it would be when I picked it up which was disappointing, but just as a mystery novel, it was pretty good.

I stood taking photographs of this spider and her friends for about five minutes which I think was decidedly brave of me considering she and all her friends are probably poisonous.

After a couple of minutes with my big lens they started to look a bit too close for comfort and I went to put my kit away in the backpack. Imagine my terror when reaching for the strap I came eye to eye with a fat furry face. I screamed. Like a girl. It turned out that it was only a beetle but boy was I scared.

I also scared my boyfriend who thought that I had been bitten by one of the scary buggers I had just been taking pictures of.

With hindsight at least it is funny.

Planning out a minifig scale dreadnought in Lego Digital Designer. Eventually (assuming I can figure out the minor details and make it suitably evil looking) this will be Karess - one of the nine assassins sent to take out Saint Sabbat in Sabbat Martyr.

The weapons are meant to be a plasma cannon and a heavy bolter. The bolter should have a dangling ammo feed, but I haven't figured out a decent way to model one at this scale yet.

Finally got the pieces to build a stand for the Ghosts. Here's all the completed figs so far.

"The Magician's Assistant"

A Defining Poem

Eyes:

With the spherical glow of fantasy consolidated

The dream of a surreality within reality.

Svelte Lips:

From forth music flows and words, perchance

The verbalization of beauty permeating the sound spectrum,

The essence of the curiosity of quintessential youth,

For a girl to devote her entire life to legerdemain--

The love of the hand to touch the passion of her smile,

The faintest of a curve of expression on her Poker face.

Tightrope thin eyebrows:

To create the illusion of a painless slice

Straight through her core, sever her in half;

To shade the drought in her heart

When Her Magician Savior

Takes a Member of the Crowd

To her place...

After rendering his saw deep through her--

She, unable to move,

Her body in two dichotomous halves.

Her Assistant's Red Cape:

A mere shadow of his that she carries on her back.

With her always, this crimson cloth as if bleeding

Against the darkness that highlights the existence of

Celestial bodies that would otherwise be too petty

For another's sight to see, to forget, to erase.

The Intricate Lace Of Outfit:

Too soon a victim of fatal entropy

Brought about to full rose bloom

In less than a spring's galvanization:

The pattern of the lace survives not the tear--

He leaves her there:

Sliced in half,

Unable to move,

Unable to forget,

Forever frozen, her body, the two halves of her,

Once one, forever divorced.

When Mr. P was a student, Sarah was his flatmate. He called her 'Sloth', after Sloth in The Goonies... he had his reasons. Obviously not aesthetic!

This picture of her is from a night out some months ago and is taken with a Lomo Colorsplash, on Fuji 200 film. Scanned via Epson V330.

Hiking up enormous mountains in Cambodia is sometimes not as easy as one would think. This gentleman accompanied us in the capacity of 'Ranger', his gun for the purpose of dispatching errant tigers. well, lets face it, with his mild expression and flip flops he was hardly going to intimidate bandits.

Ban Daur and Gol Kolea.

I may eventually do a version of Ban in his Vervunhive uniform, and Gol as a mine worker.

In one of my other fandoms, we were asked to take a photo of things we can't live without. I naturally had to include Kylie, Hannah and Emma. I love all my girls, but those three - I've always had a special connection to them. Also included....

MY FIVE FAVORITE STUFFED ANIMALS: from left to right, Midnight Jr., Hippo, Isabel, Bunny and Midnight. I've slept with Bunny and Isabel since I was little. I got Midnight when I was ten and Midnight Jr. the first time I went away to camp. I got Hippo for Christmas 2008 from my brother, because I love the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas." I always sleep with them, and can't without them.

MY FANFICS: (the stack of binders) My Glee fanfiction gives me the feeling that I AM special and I always love reading the comments I get. I love Glee and I love Finchel and I always will. My reviewers make me feel so good about myself.

CERTIFICATE FROM THE BOE: I got honored by the BOE at my last meeting ever. Whenever I see that certificate, I remember all the good times I had with them and all the support they gave me.

SWIM TEAM SPIRIT AWARD: Won my 9th grade year. Reminds me of the best year on the swim team.

AUTOGRAPHED MAGAZINES FROM STARS ON ICE: Met and got autographs from Evan Lysacek, Tanith Belbin, Ben Agosto and Alissa Czisny at Stars On Ice 2010. Best show I've ever been to, and such a happy night. They were all so nice to me.

PROGRAM FROM GLEE LIVE: One of the best nights ever. I love Glee so much, especially Finchel.

CAMP JOURNAL: Helps me remember all the good times I had at camp :)

HIGH SCHOOL JOURNAL: All my high school memories.

POLITICAL MEMORABILIA: I've always loved politics, and I was involved with Barack Obama's 2008 campaign and it was such a great experience. These are just a few pieces of political memorabilia I own!

NECKLACE: I got this from my aunt who died in September 2011. She and I were very close, so this necklace has a special significance to me. There are charms on it from my high school graduation, middle school graduation, and First Communion.

GRADUATION CAP: Reminds me of high school, the best years of my life.

CAMP STAFF PHOTOS: Reminds me of all the great people I've met at camp.

PROGRAM FROM MY AUNT'S SERVICE: I lost my favorite aunt to cancer in September 2011, and I was very close to her. I miss her every day of my life and I'll always remember her.

CURRENT JOURNAL: The journal I've been writing in since December 2008. There are so many memories in there.
