Elephant ACes begin the descent off the Palmer Divide with a load of coal as they pass through Palmer Lake, CO.
It's a pair of ACes, something that has become quite common on the Joint Line. And it's something to appreciate in the present because who knows how long it will last, just like Tangy Pickle Doritos. I found out about those late in their "limited time only" game, loved them, and now I can't find the dang things anymore...
Meyer Lemons - is a cross between a regular lemon and a mandarin orange. It is round and has a thick skin, sometimes orange in color. It is sweeter than the tangy regular lemon.
These are a delightful addition to a glass of water.

Esta semana no he podido pensar en otra cosa que no fueran naranjas, limas o limones.... no se me ha ocurrido nada más ácido, la verdad

These funny looking structures are found dotted around Phillip Island. They are Chicory Kilns, used for drying out the roots of the Chicory plant. Once dried they were ground into a fine powder. From this was made a tangy and slightly bitter-tasting caramelised essence, which was commonly added to coffee. As coffee was quite expensive, this was often used as a substitute and was in high demand during war times. No longer in use but provide an interesting addition to the photographic landscape!
There is enough puree for three jars of jam. Not bad for free. These are too sour to eat raw, they make a nicy tangy jam.

it really is lovely!
Sweet, tangy but smooth and complex.
Most of it destined for cider but we kept 3 litres for drinking fresh as apple juice.

Slice of Lemon in fizzy water, if you spriknle some salt on the slice the bubbles stay long and keep coming.
My Hash Benedict from the Manchester Diner. Not the most photogenic benedict I've had, but it was quite tasty. The eggs weren't poached, but were perfectly fried. The potatoes and hash were perfectly crisped. The hollandaise sauce nicely textured and tangy.
All-in-all, 8 out of 10 on my benedict scale.
olive and piper spent some time debating which animal crossing villager was better, goldie the dog or samson the mouse. i wasn't gonna tell them that the correct answer is tangy the cat.
Okay, so here you are at Panda. Did you order Orange Chicken again? I mean, who could blame you? It's sweet, tangy, one might say, irresistible even. You can branch out another time. Or the time after that.
I have to say I have never had anything other than Orange Chicken at Panda Express.
I've been eating there for 15 years. My kids call it Panda Meat.
I heard the Orange Chicken has more calories and fat than any other entree at Panda Express. I don't want to know!!
The lemonade berry is a small shrubby tree. The plant is native to the coastal range of southern California and Baja California. This tree can grow up to 25 feet in height and is a common member of the chaparral plant community.
The Kumeyaay used tangy huutat berries to flavor their tea. The berries are soaked in water to provide flavor and they’re also eaten fresh. The seeds from these berries are ground up and combined with this tangy drink. A wad of lemonade berries can also be placed in the mouth as a means to keep thirst at bay during long hikes under the sun. The bark of this tree is used in a tea after childbirth.

It's Sweets Week! A week-long tribute to those tasty sugar treats that are no good for us, but so good to us.
SweeTarts: Though there are times when pretty much any candy substance will do--heck, even a spoonful of sugar is possible--I'm not one to reach for the tart or sour. It makes me shudder & shake like a 2-year old tasting lemon for the first time. :P

Getting this one was all about being okay with laying flat on the ground right by the water's edge on a hot day, half in the muck and decaying leaves, bugs buzzing around, and breathing in the tangy aroma of that environment. Loved every second.
Two years ago, these were the first fried pickles I'd ever had. They remain, by far, the best. Truly outstanding, with a great combination of crunchy outside and soft, tangy inside, and a nice dipping sauce, to boot. The fried pickle against which all other fried pickles are measured.
The cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is a tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew nut and the cashew apple - Wikipedia
The cashew apple is stringy and the juice is tangy. Geaat care is taken to avoid staining your clothes when eating the fruit.
The seed grows outside the fruit.
Long ago if you wanted roasted cashew nuts you must collect sufficent quantity of the seeds and place them in a tin can with a tight fitting lid. Punch holes on the out surface of the can and toss the can into a fire . The oily seeds bursts into small explosions that dissipate through the holes. When finished, remove and crack open the seeds.
Nobody I know goes through the trouble. There are not enough Cashew trees around here. We buy the nuts in the supermarket.
For hundreds of years, people have used hawthorn berry as an herbal remedy for digestive problems, heart issues, and high blood pressure. In fact, the berry has been a key part of traditional Chinese medicine since at least 659 A.D
Hawthorn berry is a rich source of polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidant compounds found in plants. Antioxidants help neutralize unstable molecules called free radicals that can harm your body when they are present at high levels.Free radicals can come from certain foods. You can also have higher levels of them as a result of exposure to environmental toxins such as air pollution and cigarette smoke
Soft, puffy, melt-in-the mouth buttery buns filled with a tangy olive paste are a dream for a late breakfast with a big cup of tea. A free-ish interpretation of the Turkish ‘açma’, which usually looks more like a twisted soft bagel.
A 24 hour marinated WHOLE humungous Beef Shin rubbed in my secret blend of spices and slow smoked over 12 hours until falling off the bone. [The word 'sumac' traces its etymology from Old French sumac (13th century), from Mediaeval Latin sumach, from Arabic summāq (سماق), from Syriac summāq (ܣܡܘܩ)- meaning "red"]
Sumacs are shrubs and small trees that can reach a height of 1–10 m (3.3–32.8 ft). The leaves are spirally arranged; they are usually pinnately compound, though some species have trifoliate or simple leaves. The flowers are in dense panicles or spikes 5–30 cm (2.0–11.8 in) long, each flower very small, greenish, creamy white or red, with five petals. The fruits form dense clusters of reddish drupes called sumac bobs. The dried drupes of some species are ground to produce a tangy crimson spice.[5][6]
Sumacs propagate both by seed (spread by birds and other animals through their droppings), and by new shoots from rhizomes, forming large clonal colonies.
I hadn't heard of this variety and thought that I'd try some. Verdict - They look good, they are crunchy but soooo sharp.
