Wikipedia: Pad Thai is a stir-fried rice noodle dish commonly served as a street food and at most restaurants in Thailand as part of the country's cuisine. It is typically made with rice noodles, chicken, beef or tofu, peanuts, a scrambled egg, and bean sprouts, among other vegetables. The ingredients are sautéed together in a wok, which creates even heat distribution. Once the dish is completed it is tossed in pad thai sauce, which gives the dish its signature tangy salty flavor with a hint of sweetness.
It’s a lively afternoon in the overlook, where sunlight filters through the pine trees to reveal a retro wonderland. Brightly colored artworks, groovy music, and fun games set the stage for an unforgettable bash. But just as the resident puppies are getting their groove on, a band of mischievous skunks bursts onto the scene, turning the party into a comical chaos. It’s pure whimsy and bedlam at the overlook — just another brick in the wall of this quirky paradise!

Oriental persimmon (Diospyros kaki), called caqui in Brazil, from the Japanese kaki, is well adapted to Brazil's Central Plateau climate.
Macro Monday Group this week has the theme "Citrus". While I, admittedly, wasn't very inspired by the theme, I did have fun buying this Ugli Fruit, slicing it, and playing around with different shots.
This one is intended to show the ugly outside of the fruit, and the perfection of the inside of the fruit. I never really got the outside in focus though... oh well.
The best part was eating my project after the camera work was done. This ugli fruit was sweet, juicy, tangy, and wonderful. It was a sublime citrus experience.
HMM everyone!
Today finally saw the first harvest of yummy lush apples from our garden! Both of our apple trees produced a large amount this year. I do not know which variety those apples are but they are pleasantly tangy and sweet. The apple crumble is already in the oven, can't wait to taste! I will upload a photo of the final entry into my apple crumble album tomorrow....

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support on the passing of my father. I deeply appreciate it. I'm laying low for a while but look forward to catching up with you all soon.
I haven't gone out in a long time with camera in hand but last week I felt the need to change the scenery up a bit so I headed to the ocean, a place I love - as noted by my username - and a place I don't get to often enough.
There's something about standing at the water's edge and looking out at it's vastness that I find grounding.
I especially like to be there during the off season - the cold wind sharp, the sea salt tangy, the horizon clear and the solitude strong -
yet welcome...

If you’re looking for a salad that’s both delicious and beautiful, look no further than this roasted beet salad! The vibrant colors of the beets and oranges, combined with the creamy goat cheese and crunchy nuts, make this dish a feast for both your eyes and your taste buds. And let’s not forget the balsamic dressing – it ties everything together perfectly, giving the salad a tangy kick that complements the sweetness of the beets, oranges, and blueberries.
Roasted Beet Salad
Serves: 6
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Recipe Ingredients
Salad
5 ounces baby arugula or Spring mix
4-5 roasted beets
1/4 cup goat cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup red onion, sliced
1/3 cup pecans, candied or roasted
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup oranges, peeled and sliced
Balsamic Vinaigrette (makes 3/4 cup)
3/4 cup quality balsamic vinegar
6 tablespoons honey
6 teaspoons Maille Dijon mustard (my favorite)
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 1/2 cup quality extra-virgin olive oil
3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Preparation
Vinaigrette
Whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Stream in the olive oil and continuously whisk to emulsify the
olive oil into the vinaigrette.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The vinaigrette will keep up to 2 weeks.
Salad
Slice the roasted and cooled beets.
Add them to a bowl along with about 3 tablespoons of dressing. Stir to coat and allow them to marinate for a few minutes while you prepare the rest of the salad.
To assemble the salad, add the arugula to a large bowl.
Add the marinated beets, goat cheese, onions, blueberries,
oranges, and goat cheese.
Drizzle on the dressing and toss to coat the ingredients well.
Enjoy!

This morning I brought in the first passionfruit of the season, a tangy addition to my breakfast fruit and cereal.
So I'm changing my diet and I started eating chia seeds. I don't know about you but when you look at them real close, they look like beetle carcasses to me. On the upside, they do speed up my metabolism and they don't taste yucky, just kind of tangy.
The Purple Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), colloquially known simply as "the mangosteen", is a tropical evergreen tree, believed to have originated in the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia. The tree grows from 7 to 25 m (20–80 ft) tall. The rind (exocarp) of the edible fruit is deep reddish purple when ripe. Botanically an aril, the fragrant edible flesh can be described as sweet and tangy, citrusy with peach flavor and texture.
The longan's (Euphoria longan) origin is disputed. It may be native to the west of Burma or alongside the lychee in China. It is in these regions that it is planted on a large scale. Longan is a prolific bearer and thrives in monsoonal regions with pronounced rainy and dry seasons. Longan is by a wide margin Thailand's greatest fruit export, beating pineapple, durian, and pummelo in money value. A very close relative of the longan, the mata kuching (E. malaiensis), also known as cat's eyes, is cultivated in many areas of South East Asia.

Nasturtium is a genus of seven plant species in the family Brassicaceae (cabbage family), best known for the edible watercresses Nasturtium microphyllum (Rorippa microphylla) and Nasturtium officinale (R. nasturtium-aquaticum).
These plants are related to garden cress and mustard, known for a peppery, tangy (pungent) flavor. The leaves and flowers can be added to salads or sauteed in olive oil with other greens. Nasturtium leaves are also eaten by caterpillars of certain butterflies.
The name Nasturtium comes from the Latin "nasus tortus" which means "twisted nose", referring to the effect eating it has on the nasal passages.

What is the Lucy apple? It’s a new variety of apple that’s a cross between Honeycrisp and Airlie Red (a red-fleshed apple also known as Hidden Rose), and embodies the best of both predecessors. A Lucy apple tastes sweet and tart with a crunchy texture, much like a Honeycrisp, but it gets its striking flesh color from Airlie Red. When you cut open a Lucy apple, the inside is mostly pinkish-red with a little bit of white.
The new variety comes in two types: Lucy Rose and Lucy Glo. The former is red on the outside and contains berry notes while the latter has a yellow skin and notable tanginess, according to Chelan Fresh, the Chelan, Washington-based creator, and grower of the Lucy.

A hidden gem of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, the Uvaia is a vibrant, golden-yellow fruit from the Myrtaceae family. It is immediately recognizable by its distinctive pear-like shape and thin, delicate skin that encases an incredibly aromatic, juicy pulp. The flavor is a captivating blend of sharp, refreshing acidity with subtle tropical notes, often described as a more perfumed version of a lemon. While too acidic to be widely eaten fresh, it is transformed into exquisite jellies, tangy sauces, and revitalizing juices. This sun-kissed fruit not only offers a unique taste of South American biodiversity but also paints a beautiful picture of nature's simple elegance.

When the colour is RED there are just so many summer fruits to enjoy! Strawberries, raspberries, and even redcurrants! Sharp and tangy, perfect with ice-cream on a hot day. My mother used to make redcurrant pie, with sweet pastry crust. Sadly I'm not such a good pastry cook, but I can still recall the taste ;o)

It was my birthday a few days back. But due to Covic- 19 pandemic, My family is staying home! Since we couldn't go out & celebrate, so I made a cake with simple decoration!
I baked Lemon moist cake a day before. The next morning, on my birthday, I made American buttercream & lemon curd. I mixed a few of these curd with the buttercream for the tangy flavor & the rest for toppings.

for the Macro Mondays challenge “Sweet Spot Squared” (September 19th 2016)
I like a little sharp and tangy taste with my sugar, so I chose raspberries ;o)
Finding and shooting the sweet spot!
I've got 3 macro 1:1 lenses now - but when I started out there was only one to fit my new Sony NEX-6, and it was Sony's eMount 30mm/3.5. That was March 2013, and I learned macro work through that lens for the next 2 years. So that was the lens I chose for this challenge.
I shoot macro in Manual, and have never explored the 'sweet spot' before - so I followed Janet's directions and used Aperture mode and shot all 17 F stop settings the lens has on two 2cm raspberries. I scattered sugar granules of various sizes both in front and behind the raspberries, to give me an idea of just how the overall image sharpness changes with the F/stop change.
Comparing the shots I used Janet's direction again: "You will be looking for the shot that has the sharpest details with as little blurring as possible". I thought it would be simple - F22 is the inevitable choice to offer minimal blurring, while keeping the subject in focus.
But I found a puzzling oddity. From F16 through to F22 the sharpness of the background elements increased, but the sharpness of the 'in focus' elements fell off. I repeated the experiment with a strawberry (a much larger subject) and the same result emerged - past F16 the 'in focus' elements of the shot suffered!
I went online to see if I could find an explanation. And the trusty B&H website came through with an article:
www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/content/rules-thumb-finding-...
I needed to compromise and take 2 or 3 stops back from F22 to find the best balance. There was little to choose between F16 and F18. This shot uses F16. And yes - I did then crop the original shot I used, to highlight the main raspberry, and leaving out most of the background sugar 'scatter'.
I hope it hits the sweet spot with you too :o)
Following on from the discussion Where do you draw the line? I've taken an old credit card as my guide, which is 3"x2" and added measures in cm too. I do SO hope that this will become the standard for Macro Mondays! My 2 raspberries are set on this 'new' format for my regular establishing shot in the first comment field

One of my favourite summer drinks, or for anytime! LoL! I'm quoting my flickr friend David... Happy Margherita Monday!!! A great way to start any week =)
Going for a more Nordic look instead of the warmer tones used in previous shots - quite fitting, I think, for early January days that should (if it wasn't constantly raining) be cold and fresh and crisp! Rich, buttery pastry, tangy mincemeat and sweet, nutty marzipan make for a delicious combination.
My contribution for "Sweet, Karam and Coffee" hosted at a friend's place! :)
I did make a few changes to the original recipe, and used marmalade (i like the tangy flavour more) instead of strawberry jam ..the link to the original recipe is here
That spring the chickadees spent several days flitting through a sprawling old apple tree beside the house my girlfriend and I had rented on Vancouver Island. They were plucking and eating the blossoms. She was concerned that they would deplete the apple crop, but as it turned out, they were simply thinning the blossoms which created room for large apples to develop. I don't know what kind of apples they were - probably an heirloom variety - but I've never had better: huge, red, firm, very sweet but also tangy.
I used her camera for this shot - a Nikon D70. Although I'd been scanning my slides and negatives for years, this was my first foray into digital photography. I loved the immediacy (what a novelty!), although the 6 MP sensor didn't exactly knock my sox off. I still shot a lot of film that year. One year later Nikon released its 10 MP D200 and I made the transition full time.
Obviously we've come a long way in 17 years, but I'm pleased that the older work in my files isn't a total writeoff as far as quality goes. Although I don't think this shot ranks with my best, the Chestnut-backed Chickadee is a species I don't see here on the prairie, so I'm happy to have a number of shots in my collection.

I am so lucky to live in a tropical country full of exotic fruits and flowers. One of my favorite is "rambutan" or the "hairy fruit" (rambut = hair). For us in Asia, the rambutan is a common fruit like apples to many people in cooler climates. There is one seed in the center that you should not eat as it is bitter. The taste of rambutans are fairly sweet with a mild tangy taste. You want some???
At my last dinner party, my brother gifted me this gorgeous, Meyer lemon, fresh from his greenhouse! Meyer lemons are not as acidic, slightly sweeter, thinner skinned & much juicier than regular lemons.

Hey guys, it's been a long time.
Finally modern! So after a month I actually uploaded. There is nothing much to say really. But the posting has slowed down due to school ect. The fig on the left is holding an AEK mod that I'll show in a better pic and a sawed of shotgun. The guy on the right has a vest made by MMB Customs. The gas mask is Tangy Kiwi's design.

Lavender's tangy aromatic flavor offers an exotic herbal touch to culinary creations, making it somewhat of an acquired taste. However, once you embrace its essence, lavender can find a permanent place in your heart. It becomes a symbol of unforgettable memories created in the picturesque small villages of France, Great Britain, or California. Whether it’s savoring local cuisine infused with this fragrant herb or wandering through vibrant lavender festivals, the experiences are as enriching as they are fragrant
