This is just a small part of a 27 ft tall sculpture of a Bald Eagle by well known artist Ghiglieri Lorenzo. (Southern Oregon Cascades Trip DSC_7070.jpg)
Bald eagles in action talon to talon. It was a bit off in the distance in tough light, but I liked the pose in the air and the conversion to B&W.

Here is a closeup of a wild Peregrine Falcon feasting on a pigeon. Peregrines have strong, large talons to knock a bird out of the sky and then carry it to the location where they want to consume. I was very lucky this day when the Peregrine chose the beach. They also have beaks strong enough to break a bird's neck. Enlarge this image if you want a good look.
This great horned owl was seen perche in a palm tree holding one talon up in Osceola County near Kenansville, Florida.

Northrop T-38C Talon 614856/15 of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School looking very pretty in the static at Oshkosh, and knocking the USAF one out of the park :o)) Unfortunately, she was so popular that I just couldn't get an unobstructed view.
This Eagle fished about 50 feet in front of me, way to close for 800mm and clipped all of his wings. So I made lemonade out of lemons here. He was dragging his talons in the water and as he was ready to grab the fish, he pulled them up. This is why there is water spray before the pickup!
