Was tagged some time ago by hksmith02....but just now getting around to posting.....no self portrait, but here's something a little different from one of our flower gardens :-)
10 things about me......
1. I was born in 1969 & raised in the midwest in the small town of Litchfield, IL; the oldest of four children; parents were self-employed RV dealer & campground co-owners before retiring a couple years ago.
2. I have a Bacherlor's Degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University, and a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (New York City). Wanted to be an FBI profiler, but that never panned out.
3. I lived in New York City for three years while attending graduate school and loved every minute of it......started out in Manhattan for a short time, then lived in Brooklyn for a few months, and finally settled in Queens for the last two years I was there.
4. Started my career in the early 90's and have gone from providing therapy services to substance abusers, sexual offenders, and domestic batterers to investigating child abuse & neglect and now working as a Quality Assurance Specialist for our state's Children & Family Services Department.
5. Met my "soul mate" in 1997 while working for the Department of Corrections as a sex offender therapist (he is a parole agent) and married in 2000......made it easy for him to always remember how many years we have been married. He is my best friend :-)
6. No children of my own, but I do have a 26 year-old step-son who lives nearby; is finishing college; and planning to marry his "soul mate" next year.
7. My ultimate goal is to purchase a vacation home somewhere out west....Montana, Wyoming, or Colorado....and eventually settle there when we retire.
8. Love to travel.....try to take at least two vacations a year, sometimes three if we can fit it in....prefer the mountains but love tropical destinations as well. Also love to read....James Patterson is my favorite but I also enjoy true crime novels, especially those about serial killers (a little weird I know but I find it so fascinating).
9. Thoroughly enjoy my new found passion of photography.....constantly learning new things and striving to refine my skills.....always looking for ways to improve.
10. Love having a forum to post my photography; meet new friends; and learn from others.

The tags told a story, a long story
I was first tagged by Bruce, Iwatebuddy
and at that point said no. I should have done it then before I whacked off my hair a couple of days ago. Plus any man who sends me candy should be able to ask almost anything.
Then Dan, wash52121 tagged me this morning feeling he was really pushing his luck. He was but. . . At the risk of seeming whatever I seem to be for not playing and to discourage anyone from tagging me again, here I am this morning, wrinkles, bed head and all.
This is the first time I've ever held up a camera in front of me and snapped a photo, usually use a tripod. It isn't as easy as it looks but I finally got an infocus photo with nothing chopped off weirdly and quit. These are my computer glasses, something you need when you get old, so you know I didn't primp.
Also, I needed to do this for me as I need to accept myself older.
Should anyone want to be tagged, consider this one.

16. I wish I lived closer to my sisters, in Victoria -I miss them.

19. I have so many monster high dolls to customise its' not funny!

This is on my sister's Sprite. A previous owner of the car must have started stacking registration tags every successive year. Apparently she has decided to continue the tradition.

I have been tagged by dear friend Debmalya and he had asked me to write about me. Though I asked him not to tag me, but he is very wicked and he does not listen to me :(. I then tried writing a few things about me. Debmalya, toke khub marte ichche hochche !!
1. I am a very dreamy person and I love building castles in dreams. I hope all my dreams will come true someday. I have my own imaginative world. I am the princess of my own world.
2. My childhood days were wonderful at my very small hometown. Every evening I used to cycle with 2 of my friends. We used to explore small and unknown roads of our place knowing that where ever we reach we will finally get a main road to discover our way back home. In the course of this small expedition we had to cross small brooks with our cycles which I enjoyed a lot.
3. When I was a child I was very much interested to find out about the existence of ghosts. So, I with my friends, used to go to graveyard in evening carrying a little piece of iron, as a source of protection, to find out the truth. Though now I don't believe in ghosts :P.
4. I loved my school life more than my college life. I have studied at the same school for 14 years. I enjoyed a lot the time period before annual sports and annual programme every year at school, because of less studies and only fun :P. And I enjoyed the birthday parties of friends at home at my school life. Still now I am close to most of my school friends and in contact with all of them :).
5. I used to top at school for many consecutive years at every assesment. So, naturally teachers used to love me :).
6. I love to spend time all alone sometimes far from the madding crowd, wandering in the nature. Stars, moonlight, jungle and mountains with a noisy brook breaking its silence takes me to a heavenly world. I also love being with the wild life.
7. I am in love with the Bengali cricketer, Sourav Ganguly.
8. I am crazy about any dish of chicken. If I am given chicken everyday I can have it everyday with very much pleasure :P.
9. Family comes first to me, I can sacrifice anything for my family.
10. My greatest achievement was getting through Google Summer of Code project and successfully completing the project. I was also very happy on the day when I got placed at TCS ( my first job ) and the day when I got first prize for my photography at college ( that was first ever reward for photography ).
11. I am an Open Source enthusiast.
12. Sometimes when I am all alone at a room I feel very depressed. I just keep remembering some bad old memories and then turn on to sad songs so that they can act as a catalyst to my pain. I hate this thing in me.
13. I hate smoking and smokers.
14. Over the past few years I have learnt lot of things about life and I have made myself so strong that I don't fear loosing anything from my life and I believe that I can sustain in any situation of life.
15. I love listening to soft romantic melodies and Rabindra Sangeet. I love bengali culture and every year wait eagerly for Durga Puja :). And now only 1 month left, can't wait for it :).

1. Like Anne, I often have my camera with me but hate having my picture taken. I'd rather be the taker than the takee...
2. I never was a bird watcher until I started posting on Flickr, now I am fascinated with (or adicted to) photographing birds.
3. I have a photo of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon that I took off the TV with my Brownie camera (my first camera!).
4. I don't own a car or a television.
5. I like my job even if it causes me to travel and loose consistency with life and temporarily loose track of friends. Good friends always understand.
6. I am more likely to be found watching a movie with subtitles than one without.
7. I like soy milk in my lattes and cream in my coffee, scotch neat and bubbles in my water.
8. I have waterskied at midnight under the midnight sun.
9. My favourite colour isn't a colour, it's black.

I've been tagged several times so I thought I'd better get on and do something about it! I've pinched RebeccaRJ's clever idea of posting a childhood picture ...... I think I was three or four here.
Now for the immensely boring 16 things about me ...... yawn ..... !
1) I was an only child .... but I prefer the French term "l'enfant unique" ..... I think unique sounds so much nicer! LOL
2) I am a physiotherapist by profession ..... still practicing, part-time.
3) Married to the same lovely man for nearly 35 years.
4) He was a University Botany lecturer but is now retired.
5) We have two grown-up children ...... a graphic designer son Andrew, who lives in Sydney, Australia and a daughter Catherine, who is Cabin Crew for Virgin Atlantic as well as being an interior designer.
6)We live in a lovely seaside town on the South East coast.
7) Our house is 600 yards from the cliff edge!
8) I love all things "crafty" .... painting, sewing, cross stitch etc, etc.
9) I started playing with cakes when the children were little.
10) Decorated my first wedding cake about 11 years ago ...... then went to evening classes to learn how to do it !!! LOL
11) I love all things to do with sugarcraft ...... especially making flowers ..... but it can be a bit tough when your husband's a botanist !!! ;o))
12) I'm an incurable collector ....... as witnessed by my reindeers and cupcake trivia collections ....... and as we're both hoarders space can be at a premium!
13) Love to travel ...... and this is helped greatly with daughter's career! ;o)))
14) Five years ago I won an MPV car on a TV phone-in competition and it's still going strong.
15) I haven't had the same luck on the lottery though!
16) I love Christmas!
