I’ve been tagged! Thank you to the kind people who tagged me =] Here are my 15 facts:
1. My name is Rachel Lorraine Cecilia K. & I have the slowest computer in the whole wide world.
2. One day I would like house with a copula and library, one with one of those sliding ladders, preferably.
3. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of: Horsefeathers, Elliott Smith, Charlie Brown music, and 90’s alternative rock.
4. I get homesick when I am away from home.
5. I am a little old lady in the body of an adolescent. Maybe I was just made for a different century or something.
6. Sometimes if I feel like writing when I’m at work, I’ll write in IPA symbols so if I lose it no one will be able to read it. =]
7. I love the scrubbing bubbles commercials =]
8. There are so many places I would love to go to, just to photograph. I wish I could go back to the Bavarian forests, Neuschwanstein castle, the streets of Lucerne and the mountains. I also wish I could go places I’ve never been like the mansion from “Great Expectations,” where Fin meets Estelle. I’d also like to go south, to take photos of plantation homes and huge willow trees and alligators.
9. I am so so glad flickr exists. There are so many talented, wonderful people I’ve been able to talk to because of it & that makes me very happy.
10. My favorite movie is probably Benny & Joon. It has inspired quite a few awesome games of poker =]
11. I like making little booklets on brightly colored paper with happy quotes in them on the Xerox. Then, I stick them in outgoing library books. Hee.
12. I was voted "Best Personality" in High School =] Isn't that nice?

14. Whenever I am nervous, I recite T.S. Eliot’s Marina in my head. It helps. Especially the line: “under sleep where all waters meet.”
15. For every 1 photo of me that I don’t mind, there is probably about 20 that I really dislike. Haha, I guess that’s just how it works for me.
I don't want to popularize tagging in a state park through my photography but, these are artists who need to find a canvas rather then mountain sides. They'd be better served in a gallery.

ok, i've been tagged by ralf, so... let's go!
1. i collect tones of things. i have keys that i don't know what they open, eyelashes, songs that make me cry, rocks, etc.
2. well, i'm spanish... so i am really looking forward to understanding what english songs say. i know it's ridiculous, but i can't change it!
3. my preferred word is "paz", which is the spanish term for "peace". i do really love every spanish word that ends in z.
4. you can call me silly, but i believe love never ends. it can decrease or grow, but it is always around us. just because, fortunately or unfortunately, we all are made of memories.
5. darkness frightens me since i was a child, but i don't know why.
6. i almost never remember what i dreamt the previous night. i hate it. paradoxically, i usually remember nightmares... i think this is because i dream too much when i'm woken up.
7. i couldn't live without music. i listen to music constantly (my mum says i'm crazy) and i have a quite random taste: i like rap, electronic, rock, pop, folk, new wave, screamo, metal, classical, post-hardcore, experimental, post-rock, emo music and so much more. i think the only genre i dislike is reggae.
(emo is sunny day real estate, not my chemical romance.)
8. poetry is my drug. i don't like reading novels, most part of them gets me bored. so i read poetry or theater, but specially poetry.
9. i am always late. always, i swear.
10. i like discovering two old people laughing in love on the street, or going holding hands. it's life, isn't it?
11. i love waking up and finding my face full of those marks that pillows leave. most of people hate it, but i find it very funny.
12. i'm too much perfectionist, too much stubborn, too much proud, too much pessimistic, too much sensitive, too much romantic and, maybe, too much expressive.
13. my favourite subjects are history, literature and history of art. specially the last one.
14. when i growed up and i discovered children aren't from storks, i knew i had to be a journalist. right now, i am not so sure.
15. i do really hate waiting, prejudices, the fact justice doesn't exist, getting lost or not being able to apologize.
16. i don't believe in god. i dislike religions, all of them. in my opinion, religions generate problems, wars and hate. but i totally respect them. i just can't believe in any god because i think it isn't logical.

Tentei escolher as minhas favoritas de cada um e deu quase certo. xD
2012 foi meu primeiro ano no mundo da fotografia, flickr e dolls. Criei uma conta por aqui no início do ano e comecei a me aventurar com a câmera (gostei muito dos primeiros resultados pra quem nunca tinha fotografado nada).
Em abril (depois de 2 anos sonhando) a Vanille chegou e mergulhei de cabeça nesse mundo "dollistico". Acabei deixando minha primeira conta desativada e criei a galeria da "CottonCandy♥" (a melhor coisa que fiz).
As primeiras fotos da Vanille e da Mari sairam terríveis, mas com o tempo fui aprendendo a fotografá-las e hoje fico bastante satisfeita (na maior parte do tempo) com as minhas fotos.
Conheci pessoas maravilhosas por aqui que um dia espero conhecer pessoalmente e que considero verdadeiras amigas, e também finalmente encontrei um hobby: fotografia e dolls!
Obrigada a todos por fazerem parte desse ano maravilhoso e espero que 2013 seja ainda melhor, para todos nós!

Flickr Tagging - Top tips on the Best ways to Tag your Pictures to Maximise Views
Today, a blog on tagging through Flickr.
Tagging is an important part of getting your pictures seen and found. There are other sites that tell you why tagging is so important. Below, I've set out a few ways to super charge your tags.
75 is the magic number
Flickr allows seventy five tags per uploaded picture. Use them all and you will have a very powerful combination of words for any search engine to search for. Sounds obvious but very few users seem to max out their tags. Why not try it?
My picture tags tend to be found through a Flickr search, Google and Yahoo. These should be your main targets for speculative viewings.
Combine words in tags? pink pink yellow EXPLORE
Is it better to have a tag saying "pink flower" or separately pink and flower. The short answer, in my opinion, is use both methods for you keywords. Separating the words means if someone just searches for pink or flower, they may find your shot. This is much more likely than a combined search. If someone does do a combined search, you've covered that one off too. On top of this, when Google spiders your site it will find multiple occurrences of your key words, which is good news for your page ranking.

Mega title
Google puts heavy emphasis on words in the title and so does Flickr when searching for keywords. Make sure you pick the words in the title wisely - what will most drive people to your picture.
The shot below regularly gets visits - months after I first posted it. Why?

Combined power of key words across your site
Even stronger - combine keywords in the title, description and tags. Provided you don't over do it, featuring your key words in all of these locations will really increase their relevance. You could even go crazy and include the key words in notes on the picture and comments under the picture. Hey, go mad and make your Flickr name the key word!

Hot tags and related tags
Flicker gives you a great head-start in finding terms. Flickr's popular tags page lists out hot tags in the last 24 hours and last seven days plus the all time most popular tags.
First, look at the hot tags. Do any immediately relate to your picture? For example, yesterday's date is almost always a hot tag Feb4 is hot today, and Feb3, Feb2 and Feb1 were all popular this week. Why add? Because its listed as a hot tag, people will search for it - its a self fulfilling prophecy.
Still in the hot tags, you are also likely to see mysterious terms like hff, hpps and tigf. These are the terms the insiders in Flickr use to flag up ceratin types of post. If you are unsure of what they mean, do a bit of detective work. Click on the tag and search for the most interesting pictures with the tag. It will soon become apparent that, for example, hff stands for Happy Furry Friday - Flickr fans post animals on this day with this tag, the cuter the better! So join in. Take a picture of you pooch or moggy, upload and tag.
All time most popular tags gives you a simple list of the words people have used to describe their pictures. If you see any that relate to your picture, use them. Word of warning - because they are so popular, your picture will be competing against hundreds of other pictures. So don't just rely on these - you need to be unique.
Flickr will also do your the favour of telling you related tags to yours, simply search for a tag and related tags will be thrown up. Searching for Green Goblin through popular tags gives you spiderman, marvel, toys, toy, marvelcomics, green, goblin, hulk, actionfigure, comics. Copy and paste as relevant.

Give them what they want
Certain words are searched for more than others.
Google Zeitgeist may offer inspiration. The Hot Trends section lists the 100 hottest search trends on Google today. If people are searching on Google, they can find it on Flickr. If any of the terms in Hot Trends relate to your upload, add them.
For example, today - a top 3 hot trend is 'World Nude Day'. Immediately, I thought that my photograph of Eve (below) needed world, nude, day added as tags.

You might find this article on the most popular search terms on Google last year will provide you with further food for thought.
Sourcing tags
Sometimes you have a mental blank - 75 tags is very tall order after all. The key is to do a tiny bit of research.
First stop, Thesaurus.com - type in a tag you can think of. The shot below might be described as a pile of green cars.

After a trip to Thesaurus.com it becomes a heap, collection,accumulation, aggregate, aggregation, amassment, assemblage, assortment, bank, barrel, buildup, chunk, conglomeration, drift, gob, great deal, hill, hoard, hunk, jumble, lump, mass, mound, mountain, much, ocean, oodles*, pack, peck, pyramid, quantity, shock, stack, stockpile of emerald, apple, aquamarine, beryl, chartreuse, fir, forest, grass, jade, kelly, lime, malachite, moss, olive, pea, peacock, pine, sage, sap, sea, spinach, verdigris, vert, viridian, willow.
The great thing here is that you can copy the list and paste straight into your tags list. Instant vocabulary explosion!
Clearly, you might want to delete some of the less relevant terms but this is a great way of topping up to 75.
Once you've filled up here, next stops should be Wikipedia.org, Google and Yahoo - with each, search using a key word and then pick and choose any word that springs out to you.
Tag geography
I'm English. I think in English and tag in English. Flicker is global and its users global. Google Trends lists the nations that search most for the term Flickr as:
1. Malaysia
2. United Kingdom
3. Singapore
4. Italy
5. United States
6. Ireland
7. Canada
8. Spain
9. Taiwan
10. Philippines
So only five out of ten speak English as their first language. To turn yourself international, head over to Babel Fish on Yahoo or better, NiceTranslator, add your most relevant tags to your photos, pick English to Italian and to Pile, Green, Cars you can add automobili, verdi, mucchio.
Instantly, your multi-lingual and could be sipping an Expresso in Rome rather than snowed in in Stevenage. This is such an overlooked area of Flickr - its time for you to think more globally.
Niche tags
Some topics are very well represented on Flickr - sunsets, kittens and flowers are pretty well covered. One key to the longevity of your pictures is to make them niche and tag them. Search for obscure terms to see what images already exist - if there's a gap - fill it.
One of my favourite searches if for the most interesting pictures on Flickr tagged with the word "Boring". Some great shots can be found here.
Warning: Hazards to Interestingness
There are some who believe that cetain tags damage your chance of interestingness. Words that are offensive or inappropriate may well be screened out or you risk being classified as an adult themed site. Common sense is required.
Its also rumoured that the Explore alogorithym will score you higher or lower depending on your tags. For example, if every person uses the tag Bokeh, Flickr may rate each Bokeh picture against each other to find the most interesting. Using unusual or interesting tags is your best weapon against this kind of competition if you're focussed on getting explored.
Now you are armed - get tagging. Let me know any ideas you have for getting more of the best out of tagging.

Yup, I've been tagged by a few while I was away. Yes that means you Amy and Nathan. Even though it was cloudy and slightly raining I tried a photo shoot for a friend and she ended up shooting me. Straight out of the camera. It was hard for me to put up a few photos without doing any HDR processing or symmetry :)

Least, Bloom in season 4 onward. I use to like bloom but now she is annoying

Secret of the Lost Kingdom was amazing, personally the series should have ended there, but season 4 wasn't too bad.

As long as it can, or just give it a spin off with kids of them, or Tecna.

1) My favorite drink is vodka-martini.
2) I almost always remember my dreams and have years of logged dream journals.

4) I had speech therapy when I was in first grade cause I used to pronounce "sss" instead of "tzz" (important sound in Hebrew).
5) I never put a tomato in a closed sandwich. I think that is disgusting.

1: From all the dolls you own, who is your favourite and why?
Wow, what an impossible question! I don't buy dolls if I don't love them, so I guess they are all kinda my favorite:) That said, I LOVE Soom Little Gems and the creative process that I put into making them my own.
2: Explain how you managed to get into BJD collecting?
I've always collected dolls one way or the other, but that pretty much stopped when I got into university. I came to Japan back in 2003 for uni and somehow stumbled upon Tenshi no Sumika in Osaka. It felt like I'd seen the holy grail of doll collecting, but there was no way I could afford it at the time so I dismissed it. Finally back in October of 2010, after several months of research, I ordered my first girl--Souldoll Katie A. She was the window to everything else, and I love her. Also, I met Shawnah in early 2011 and we've had lots of fun together! Plus I came to love and appreciate Volks dolls. All of my Volks dolls are officially her fault ^_-
3: Name the very first doll you ever bought?
Impromptu, my Katie A., was my first doll. I was looking for something very specific and it took me a long time to get there. I almost bought a Bluefairy Tommy for my first girl, and she's still on my wish list. Impromptu is a character very dear to me, and I'm about to drop a mint to have her older version in iplehouse Bianca. I may also end up with yet another one of her in iple Tania:)
4: Which doll do you plan to buy next?
Iplehouse Bianca, hands down. It's only the second time a doll grabbed me that hard, the first being Soom Adamelli. With that red hair, the freckles, the half military half poor girl story, with the right green eyes...oh wow, am I ever in love with her. I might also end up sending a chunk of paycheck to Volks again if there's a nice tenshi this October...
5: Are you currently waiting on any dolls?
Of a sort. I have a Soom Thera on layaway. I don't think I'll be passing on Soom msd sizes anymore...I've seriously regretted all the ones I've passed on.
6: How many dolls do you currently have?
Er...I have 23, plus a floating head because I'm one Soom body short, and a doll that's outside the count because I mean to sell her. I have Soom Dune, Nor, North, Kivi, Marl, Pel, Obsidius, Migma, and Rosette Fir. From Volks, I have SDGr Jun Tachibana, Rozen Maiden Suiseiseki, Yo Kun, Little Lorina, Tenshi Mamu, Tenshi Mika, Tenshi Ken, and a lucky Sei Tenshi that I won at Kyoto Dolpa. From Souldoll, I have Soulkid Katie A. and discontinued Clara. From iplehouse, I have B.I.D.s Erzulie, Byuri, and Efreet. I also have a Raurencio Stella.
7: Name the very last doll you bought?
Volks Suiseiseki and Souseiseki, practially together, over this past weekend. It was alarming how quickly I loved the mold. As Shawnah pointed out, they are big Mamu, and I love Mamu sooo much! So yeah, Suiseiseki at least is here to stay, and as for Souseiseki, we'll see:)
8: What is the worst thing about this hobby?
I think it brings out a sort of obsessiveness in people if done to excess, and I've been on the wrong end of some very rude people at special events. Some people really will throw you in front of a bus for the chance to buy a special doll, even when you are helping them -_-; Also, of course, the money. I shudder to think how much money I've tanked on this hobby, but it's brought me tons of happiness so I think it's worth it.
9: What is the best thing about this hobby?
I feel like I've learned so much already and it's made me want to learn about so many new crafts. My mom was always an art teacher but nothing ever really inspired me as a medium. These dolls finally are my answer, and I love everything about them--the clothes, the photography, the face-ups...there's so many things to learn! Also, I've had some great experiences and made some awesome friendships through this hobby!
10: Which is your best dolly photo (of yours)?
Hmm, I don't know. I think I still have a lot to learn when it comes to photography! I will say though that I'm fond of the pics I took of Chroniko when she only had half a faceup ^^;
11: Which is your favourite BJD company?
By default I have to say Soom. I love love love their msds, and their clothes are to die for. The aesthetic of their dolls really appeals to me. That said, I have a wishlist for iple dolls a mile long. I love them too and really look forward to having some of their larger sizes someday. And finally, Volks has continued to grow on me, and my wishlist for them is not so short either :P
12: Who are on your wish list?
Oh my god. It's a long list. At the top of easily attainable things are iple Elin twins, iple Tania, and Volks Elena and Rinon. As for not so attainable things, I'd love to have a yo-tenshi Hinata. From Soom, I want all the Little Gems I'm missing: bronze Aphan (as a girl), NS fullset Sueve (I'm losing faith that I will ever find her^^;),human NS Mylo, and Nodia, prolly in CW.
13: Are there any dolls you wished you had never purchased?
Nope. I've had fun with all of my dolls. I loved my Leeke dolls but they just didn't fit my collection at all. Probably the one I fought the most was Soom Amphibel. She drove me up the wall, but I ended up trading her for a gorgeous Migma so it's all good.
14: Who's your favourite face up artist/s?
I love meggilu! Her freckled faceups are to die for, and I hope to send one of my dolls to her someday. For more serious faceups I like angeltoast. I'm also fond of Nomyens after seeing her work in real life.
15: What is a must when considering a purchase/pose ability/faceup/age/etc?
Probably I don't have enough criteria for making a purchase ^^; But honestly, a doll has to really grab me, and to at least loosely fit a character I have in mind. The exception is the Soom Little Gems. I get them, then decide which character they are, and then sometimes they get ideas during the faceup and I learn things about their personality that I didn't know myself. I really don't want to get anything bigger than what I have now though...70 cm is just way too much for my space constraints. My tallest doll is SD17 size and that's plenty for me!
