A memorial stone tablet on the wall of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, bearing the inscription:
This Cloister is Erected
to the Glory of God and
in Loving Memory of
Ida E S Noyes
1853 + + + 1912
Vice-President General
Daughters of the
American Revolution
Ida Elisabeth Smith was born April 16 1853 in Delaware County but moved west with her family, becoming a school teacher and then married to La Verne Noyes in 1877. The married couple moved to Chicago, where they settled down and Mr.Noyes made it big as an inventor. The later years of her life Ida Noyes devoted largely to the Daughters of the American Revolution and she became Vice-President General of the national organization, a position she held until she passed away on December 5 1912. Mr. Noyes gave to the Fourth Presbyterian Church the Cloister connecting the manse with the church edifice, and included this memorial tablet to his wife.

The Iguvine Tablets are a series of seven bronze tablets discovered at Gubbio (ancient Iguvium), Italy, in the year 1444. Currently housed in the Civic Museum of the Palazzo dei Consoli in Gubbio, they are also known as the Eugubian Tablets or Eugubine Tables. The earliest tablets were probably written in the 3rd century BC in the native Umbrian alphabet, the latest in the 1st century BC in the Latin alphabet.
The tablets contain religious inscriptions that memorialize the acts and rites of the Atiedian Brethren, a group of 12 priests of Jupiter with important municipal functions at Iguvium. They are written in the Umbrian language, and are by far the longest and most important document of any of the Osco-Umbrian group of languages, closely related to Latin.
The Sign writes:
"In 1829, the 9th year of the reign of Daoguang, this stone tablet was made to mark the successful suppression of the riot and the capturing of the rebels in Huijiang."
